Halfway through the season, and what a journey it has been. β½
Our junior footballers have continued to raise the bar, competing against some of South Africa's top academies and proving that Old Eds is a club that belongs on the biggest stages. Every tournament, every training session and every match has showcased the hard work, determination and passion of our players, coaches and families.
The FIFA World Cup brought an extra buzz to the club, with players proudly wearing the colours of the nations they supported and taking part in friendly competitions, quizzes, crossbar challenges and penalty shootouts that had everyone smiling.
While we're proud of the results on the field, it's the friendships, community spirit and love for the game that make this club truly special.
Here's to an exciting second half of the season. The best is still to come! πβ½

Old Eds runners have been keeping the momentum going, representing both locally and abroad as the road racing season gets into full swing. π
Before taking on Comrades, Rienzo Colpo proudly represented Old Eds at the Utrecht Half Marathon in the Netherlands β his first race in Old Eds colours. π
Flying the flag on the trails, Andrea Icely tackled the demanding MUT 60km through the spectacular Outeniqua Mountains in May. An incredible achievement!
The 21km racing season also got underway at the Orlando Race Against Cancer with Discovery Vitality, with some fantastic performances:
* Retsepile Khotle finished 2nd overall and 1st in his age category in the 21km, crossing the line in 1:14 π₯
* Stiaan van der Merwe celebrated his first-ever half marathon, earning 3rd place in his age category. A brilliant debut! π
Down in the Garden Route, a number of members made the trip to the Knysna Marathon, taking on both the marathon and half marathon distances.
Closer to home, members braved the winter chill at the Gallopers 15km/5km Road Race, proving that a cold morning is no excuse to miss race day.
From international roads to mountain trails and local races, itβs been another fantastic few weeks for Old Eds Athletics.
