Gutted. This wasnât how we were hoping the day would pan out. Unfortunately the engine has let go on us and thereâs no viable way of getting it back up and running in the allotted time.
We are so sorry to all our fans and supporters who have been so wonderful in the build up to this race; we love you all and truly appreciate all the love you have shown us. This is just one of those motorsport things; it doesnât always go to plan and no matter how hard you prepare and try avoid catastrophic failures, they can still blind-side you.
We were truly feeling so positive about putting in a good showing for our sponsors, Toyota GAZOO South Africa and Hestico. Weâre sorry guys.

Team Tofuhunters qualified âwellâ, posting a fast 2:30.704. But thatâs only good enough for 14th in class, and 29th overall, placing us decidedly mid-pack. The top 30 cars are separated by 0.78 seconds đł itâs going to be crazy out there.

Practice for the iLamuna Endurance series SafariProjek 9hrs of Jozi race next weekend and despite looking like the dogs breakfast (for now), the 43-year old girl did well. Sean Michael Nurse dipped into the 2:30s which poses a breakout risk - not words that weâre accustomed to putting together in the same sentence in this team. Chad LĂźckhoff and Raymond Sinclair were on pace as well and things are looking good for the main event, even if the car doesnât.
One week until the iLamuna Endurance series SafariProjek 9hr endurance race. The car is mechanically 98% ready, with just the few cosmetic touches still needed. The recipe is largely the same, but weâve shed a little weight in the process and will shed even more for the 24hr in November.
