Footage from the VSA Inter Provincial Tournament 2026, proudly hosted in Gauteng this July, was featured on SABC1’s G.O.A.T.S Like Us on Friday, 20 August, shining a spotlight on the Junior category of the national event.

Seeing our young volleyball athletes and our sport featured on national television is something truly special. Moments like these give volleyball the visibility it deserves and help showcase the incredible talent and potential within our game.

A very special thank you to Prabashnee Naidoo, whose efforts played a huge part in making this opportunity possible. 🙏

We hope this is just the beginning. We want to see more volleyball, more often, on bigger platforms. We’ll keep working hard to make that happen 💪

On Sunday, 23 August, KAD Volleyball Club hosted a very successful Referees Workshop in Johannesburg, bringing together an incredible 51 participants from all five Gauteng districts!

Supported by JVU and GVU, the workshop provided a valuable opportunity for our members to learn, develop and strengthen their refereeing knowledge and skills.

A particularly valuable part of the workshop was a practical scorekeeping session, where participants had the opportunity to put their learning into practice by keeping score during an actual JVU League match.

Well done to KAD VC for taking the initiative and making this workshop happen 👏👏 And well done to all the participants!

A very special thank you to the City of Johannesburg and the Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation for their valued support and assistance.

Gauteng Volleyball Union is incredibly proud to congratulate Coach Themba Rabi on successfully completing and passing the FIVB Level 3 Coaching Course, held in Harare, Zimbabwe, from 8–15 August 2026 👏🇿🇦🎉

This is an outstanding achievement at the highest level of international volleyball coach education. From 32 candidates who participated in the course, only 18 successfully qualified, an overall pass rate of just 56%.

Themba’s achievement is therefore something worth celebrating, not only for him personally, but for volleyball in Gauteng. The knowledge and experience gained through opportunities such as this contribute directly to raising the standard of coaching and player development within our province.

Congratulations, Themba! We are extremely proud to call you one of our own. 💙🏐💛
