⛵ HMYC sailors making waves at the Lipton Challenge Cup!

What an incredible display of sailing in Table Bay! 🌊⛵

The Lipton Challenge Cup has delivered some seriously exciting racing, and we’re especially proud to see two HMYC sailors, Josh Pretorius and Ruddy McNeill, representing on Point Yacht Club entry SA 1116 – G’day J skippered by Richard Weddell.

With all 10 races completed G’day J finished 7th overall out of 17 entries — a fantastic effort in a highly competitive fleet.

This is such a well-deserved recognition of Gregg’s passion, dedication, knowledge and commitment to developing and inspiring sailors.

Gregg gives so much to our sailing community, always sharing his experience, encouraging our sailors and helping them become better both on and off the water. His impact reaches far beyond the race course.

🍕⛵ SAIL FOR YOUR SLICE! ⛵🍕

Yesterday HMYC hosted our very first Sail for Your Slice – Midmar Pizza Adventure, and what a fantastic day on the water! 🌊☀️

Our sailors set off on a fun-filled pizza adventure, sailing around Midmar Dam and stopping at different stations along the way to collect their favourite pizza toppings. 🍅🧀🥩🍄

From Munro Bay to Elkedal, Blackhurst Peninsula and beyond, sailors had to navigate their way around the course, collect their ingredients and eventually return to the Yacht Club to build their very own pizza! 🍕🏆

It was a great mix of sailing, adventure, teamwork and plenty of laughs — a brilliant new event for the HMYC calendar.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make our first Sail for Your Slice such a success. We can’t wait to do it again! ❤️💙

⛵️ ILCA KZN REGIONALS — DAY 2! 🌊🥂

What a day on the water! Champagne sailing for everyone at the ILCA KZN Regionals Sunday! ☀️💨

The first race got underway in light, tricky conditions, but the breeze steadily built throughout the day, delivering fantastic sailing across the fleet.

By Race 4, the wind was really on — giving our sailors some seriously exciting conditions and plenty of big smiles on the water! 🔥⛵️

With three races sailed today, we now have SIX races completed and the competition is really heating up! 🏆

A huge well done to all our sailors, race committee, safety crew and volunteers for another fantastic day on the water. 👏
