With race day this Sunday, it's time to start thinking about your kit, checking the weather forecast, and packing your mandatory gear.

Before you know it, you'll be making your way towards the finish line in Hout Bay, sharing stories from the trail over a well-earned drink with fellow runners, friends and family. The countdown is on.

With the Old Fisherman's Trail Challenge taking place on Sunday, 14 June, we thought we'd share a few race stats to get you excited for what's in store.
From challenging climbs and technical descents to breathtaking views and unforgettable trails, OFTC packs a lot into 25km.

Not everyone feels ready to take on the full Hout Bay Trail Challenge alone… and that’s exactly why HBTC has a team option. ⛰️
Grab two mates, split the route between the three of you and take on the mountain together — one leg at a time. Whether you’re the climber, the speedster or just there for the gees and the finish line photos, there’s a place for everyone on a team.
And of course, there’s the important job of coming up with a legendary team name. 😄

𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗘: Race village is at Kronendal Primary School!

There is a new start & finish venue for 2025 - Kronendal Primary School, in Andrews Road.

There will be parking on the school field and around the school in Andrews Street and Darling Street, but we suggest that teams don’t park on the field.

Race start is 7am, so please arrive in time to be at the start line 10min before.

There will be coffee available before the start, and thanks to Devils Peak Beer Company there will be cold beers waiting for you at the finish.

The Hout Bay Trail Challenge is almost here, and it wouldn’t be HBTC without a little rain leading up to race day. 🌧️

The good news? Saturday’s weather is looking great! But remember — conditions on the mountain can still be cold and unpredictable, so pack your wet-weather and warm gear to stay comfortable out there. Don't forget your Racefood bars
