Overtakers Athletics Sport Club Womens Day Race was truly meant for iimbokodo. All categories were no child's play but the beautiful and resilient Lilly women conquered it. Well-done zimbokodo ze Lillies 💚🤍💚🤍

The Birth of Mdantsane Marathon was in 2023 December. The Marathon initially was a thought to bring communities in Mdantsane and around BCM and ADM rural areas to attract Youth and start developnent programs.

The Idea was from former and current Mdantsane Running Legends which was a great opportunity to boost the Athletics to the area.

This went well for 2023 and 2024 but 2025 entries were too low to proceed for the event. And it did not happen in 2025.

2026 is the Year we change a strategy collaborating with Social Influencers and Local Club which will assist with ensuring all requirements are met, this includes Marshall's, Water stations and Resources.

We are so excited that we have included a 10km Race in November, the 10km brings us the fastest 10km yet to be found in Mdantsane and it will bring so PB's for those who want to brag for their best 10k times.

We would like to emphasize that we are doing this for Athletics development in Mdantsane and surrounding areas, Coaching Trainings, Technical Officials for former Running Legends who could benefit on this Race.

We plead to all to come and support the Mdantsane Marathon and out inaugural 10km Race so that we can achieve these plans and goals.

Mdantsane must stand up to be part of history and make a difference in our location. Our Kids deserve better and we are here for that, crime is growing but sport can make a life change to our kids and families.

We are still looking for sponsors to our local businesses and support from our local Running Clubs.

2026 is the YEAR OF CHANGE AND ACHIEVEMENT...

In a fitting session held in , the Club held a Welcome Session for its runners who recently joined this year and the ComradesMarathon participants. The occasion was a breath of fresh air, an eye opener for new members and a moment of overwhelming bliss. More interesting were shared stories on how each runner experienced the ultimate human race. This year the Club had two novices who vowed to return for back to back and more. Overall, it was a truly wonderful and memorable day for the beautiful Lillies 💚🤍💚🤍.
