The annual Glenashley Tennis Club’s Strawberry & Cream tournament proved a great success this past Sat. Despite a small downpour, players quickly squeegeed the courts, and we were back on the courts after a brief respite!

Much fun and competition was had by all with the allocated handicaps being graciously accepted. Our Braai Masters were in full swing and the salads, vegie pies and sauces provided by our ladies well received. Strawberries, cream, sparkling wine, liquer were all on hand and after all the prizes were handed out we agreed … tennis was the winner. 🎾

The competition, the social interaction, the enjoyment make this sport the best 🍓🎾.
And it keeps us healthy and sharp!

Tennis on Sat afternoons has been awesome, so with Wimbledon on the box, barbecue fires going, tennis in full swing - we will all have a fabulous afternoon.

Sat 11th July 12.30 start - come before to warm up and pay your R200.00 registration fee - all to help with Glenashley Tennis Club funding.
We’ll give you afternoon snackies and tea/coffee, strawberries and a glass of sparkling wine.
Evening supper - bring your own meat - we’ll supply pap, gravy, vegetable bake and salad!
There’ll be some fun prizes and we’ll have some Boerewors rolls on sale from 1.30pm to help you concentrate on the tennis.

You play with your partner and we even out the competition with handicaps.
Competitive but fun.
All dress in white otherwise you will have forfeits.
It's an all in Doubles Tournament , enter as men, ladies or mixed couples - doesn’t matter - we WILL even out the playing field ….
the handicaps will be notified to each couple as you are called to play…. up to both couples to administer and enforce!

See you Sat 11th 12.30 - it’s going to be a real hoot. Big screen TV with Wimbledon Ladies Final as well.
