We at Strength Society believe in a real and grounded training philosophy, we are not about fancy machines and crazy new fitness trends.

Our passion is for the athlete within the everyday human and their strengths and how we improve those strengths to better prepare them for life and their goals. Strength Society’s methods are focused on a balanced approach to the science of strength.

Our gym is more than a building.

Strength Society wouldn’t be what it is without our community.

Ice baths aren’t really about the cold, they’re about the recovery after.

A 2–3 minute plunge trains your nervous system to stay level when things get intense.

The main benefits are:
🫱🏾‍🫲🏼 Stress resilience: you build tolerance for discomfort in a low-stakes setting, so real stress hits your body differently.

🫱🏾‍🫲🏼 Recovery: vasoconstriction helps clear inflammation from hard training.

🫱🏾‍🫲🏼 Mood: a documented dopamine spike (up to 250%) that lingers for hours.

🫱🏾‍🫲🏼 Sleep: the parasympathetic “rebound” after cold exposure tends to deepen sleep that night.

The temperature isn’t magic, but taking a plunge consistently, 2-3 times per week is when you’ll be seeing the results.

The biggest lesson? Great coaching is more about helping people become the best version of themselves and giving them the tools to do the same for others, rather than just building followers. 🫱🏾‍🫲🏼🫱🏾‍🫲🏼🫱🏾‍🫲🏼

We all know runners are the first to neglect a leg day. 😉

That’s why we started RunFit. This is a group class structured around a fitness programme for those focused on running. The class runs at 5:15am every Monday and Wednesday morning. If you’re a runner in need of some strength training, look no further. Drop us a DM for more info.

Here’s a closer look at each team member at Strength Society and why they love what they do. 📈📈📈

🔥 Shilo Ramdin 🔥

He is our Strength Society owner & co-owner of Fitness Society. He’s passionate about cutting through the noise in an industry drowning in gimmicks, shortcuts, and self-proclaimed experts.

”While everyone else is busy chasing the latest trend, miracle supplement, or social media certification, I’m focused on what actually works: consistency, hard work, and accountability.”

The part of his job that he loved most isn’t counting reps or writing programs; it’s helping people stop buying into fitness nonsense, take ownership of their results, and discover what they’re truly capable of when excuses are removed from the equation.📈📈📈

🔥 Daine Smit 🔥

He is our other co-owner of Fitness Society. For him, it’s the small things that matter most; the small positive changes seen session to session.

”To be able to see the shift in someone’s confidence when they realise they can overcome alot more than previously expected, that’s where the work satisfaction comes.”📈📈📈

🔥 Yastri Naidoo 🔥

He’s another one of our coaches, focusing on Strength and Conditioning, while also being our Recovery Specialist.

Due to his sporting background and playing sport throughout childhood and school career, fitness was always something that was with him throughout his life. He always saw himself being in this industry trying to help people.

”I’m really passionate about the way in which people can move and how much they can see themselves accomplish, as well as helping them achieve that feeling, whether it be the everyday person trying to become better or the athlete trying to make it pro. To be part of their journey and see them accomplish their goals is a feeling that is unmatched and worth it every time.”📈📈📈

🔥 Solomon Mwale 🔥

Being our Barista & Facilities Co-ordinator, he is basically the person holding the gym together.

He’s most passionate about the behavioural side of fitness. He believes in building a routine that sticks forever; for example, he commits to 15 push-ups after his morning coffee daily.

”I like to focus on a habit system, becaus

Just another day at Strength Society. 🙂‍↔️ Some may say we have more drama than a hair salon.

We couldn’t resist jumping on this trend. 😉

Maybe there will be a part 2 🙌🏾🤭
