Dolphin Mile Swim Series

Hi All
Regrettably we have to postpone tomorrow’s Dolphin Mile swim race due to the North Easterly wind that is blowing Saturday & Sunday. Conditions are not going to be good to hold the swim and we are expecting the arrival of the dreaded blue bottles!!

A new date will be set as soon as possible.

All entries and credits will be able to be used for future race date!!

Congratulations to the 9 new Dolphin Milers who completed their 1st Dolphin Mile (1,6km or 3,2km) at Races # 8!!!
We hope your 1st Dolphin Mile experience was enjoyable and we look forward to seeing you at many more.

We have 800m, 1.6km & 3.2km distance races available!!

Race # 8 on Sunday, was definitely a challenging swim with some decent surf to negotiate on your way out & in through the surf, but great weather conditions!! Thanks to all who supported the swim!!

A nice photo and confirmation from Dolphin Mile Safety coordinator Mike Raubenheimer that conditions are looking excellent for Race # 8 taking place tomorrow morning Sunday 2nd August with weather & surf looking ideal for the swim!! Light westerly wind with small surf conditions expected at Marine Surf Lifesaving Club!!

We have 800m, 1.6km & 3.2km distance races taking place.

Late entries will be taken on the day in the Marine Clubhouse!!

Registration: 05:30-06:30
Race Briefing: 06:45
Race Start: 07:00

Please note there are some road closures due to the Total Sports running race taking place around the stadium precinct, but if you plan your trip & leave a little earlier it should be easy to get to the swim! Road closures are on this post!!

With 2 more races left of the 2026 Dolphin Mile Swim Series we have 62 swimmers (See post) who are still in contention to be awarded their 2026 Golden Caps!!
Gold Caps are awarded to those swimmers who have completed all 7 of the series swims, either in the 1,6km (Mile) or 3,2km (Double Mile)!!

Race # 8 tomorrow Sunday 2nd August is on with conditions looking excellent!!

Hi All, just a quick reminder Race # 8 is taking place on Sunday 2nd August at Marine Surf Lifesaving Club!!

After a chilly wet week for Durban, conditions are looking very good with a south westerly wind blowing for the next 3 days. The ocean should clean up nicely making for ideal conditions!!
