As all our visiting sailors pack up and start the long journey home. Thomas and Peter Funke pack up their kit bags after a very successful 505 World Championship hosted by Hayling Island Sailing Club.

A solid finish by the Funkes with a hard earned 19th in their final race.

32 overall out of 90 competitors, you guys can be so proud of yourselves.

Yellow spinnaker popping out on the left is Thomas and Peter competing on the last day.

Last but certainly not least - our 'cruising' boats.

The slower boats relished the entire week - we are only hearing glowing reports from their time on the water.

πŸ† Hearty congrats to Sail Africa's Spirit of Anna Wardley with Ben Makhanya driving his team to first overall. πŸ†

Well done to Tim Attwell and Guru for making a plan on the final day after damaging his forestay on Thursday.

And to our Rear Commodore of Keelers, Anthony Howes for putting this whole regatta together and getting to the start line each day. We hope you rest well this weekend!

πŸ† The two top contenders in the L26 Champs had us sitting on the edge of our seat for most of the week. πŸ†

Thank you Anna and Shaun and their fabulous teams for the entertainment. To the entire fleet - well sailed! To the travelling boats, we so appreciate the huge effort you put in to getting to the start line!

Congrats to the team on Waldecia - they received the handsome new Choose Life Trophy for the Most Improved Youth Team.

πŸ†πŸ†And the 2026 winner of the ORC Nationals... Tony Norris and his team on TNT Racing! πŸ†πŸ†

Our of the starting blocks, the visitors from the Royal Cape YC dominated. Eight wins out of the 12 races - fantastic result.

A strong fleet were pushing them around the race track each and every day. Defending champions, Kenwin Daniels and his crew from Izivunguvungu MSC Foundation competing on Capt Sarno's beloved J33 took silver, while our local legend, Nigel Milln and his CFM II crew finished third overall!

A lot of tired bodies today. But overall - a raving successful week for all.
