I'm a multi-awarding Sports Journalist

Photos from Sports Mjita 's post 05/08/2026

It was an honour to represent Gagasi FM at the Coast to Culture experience in Cape Town, alongside an incredible group of industry leaders, media personalities, creatives, brand partners, and fellow broadcasters.

The event was a powerful celebration of what Gagasi FM stands for, more than just radio, but a brand deeply rooted in the culture, identity, and heartbeat of KwaZulu-Natal. It was inspiring to engage with so many influential voices who continue to shape the future of media, storytelling, and culture.

I take great pride in being part of a brand that continues to elevate every aspect of our province, from sport and entertainment to business and community. Experiences like these are a reminder that when we tell our stories authentically, they resonate far beyond our borders.

Thank you to everyone who made this memorable gathering possible. Here's to continuing to fly the KZN flag with pride.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the eThekwini Manucipality for trusting me with the opportunity to host the inaugural EThekwini Sports Recognition Awards 2026 on 25 June 2026.

The awards celebrated and honoured outstanding athletes, coaches, administrators, teams, volunteers, and sporting organisations that have made significant contributions to the growth and success of sport within the City of eThekwini.

As someone who has been fortunate enough to receive awards myself, I know just how special it is to be recognised. That recognition inspires you to work even harder and strive for greater heights.

When I began my journey as a sports journalist at a community radio station years ago, I set clear goals for what I wanted to achieve in the media industry. However, I could never have imagined that one day I would host a prestigious event such as the eThekwini Recognition Sports Awards.

Through hard work, dedication, and consistency, I have been blessed to enter spaces that were once beyond my wildest dreams.

I would also like to thank for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to grow. None of this would have been possible without the platform the station has provided. I started as an intern in 2018, reading weekend sports bulletins, and worked my way up. Today, I am the sports anchor on the station's breakfast show and the host of my own show, Gagasi FM Sports Zone, every Friday from 6–7 pm.

To everyone who has supported my journey, thank you. This is only the beginning.
