Just two of your "average Joes" doing what your average "average Joes" do. But also kind of not exactly. Same same, but different.

Can't help but remember this. To have one of your favorite birds take a seat next to you in your car...what do you do? You move, it flies off. If it flies off you don't know if you'll see it in camp again. Just sit and appreciate I guess. In hindsight Im grateful I'm didn't move as it came back just a little bit later and gave me the chance to take this awesome picture. Giving me that, "what you looking at!" look! Sometimes just sitting still and not chasing the photo is the right course of action. I do love birds š¦

Nothing quite makes you realize how flammable your little wooden house is until you throw a couch on the fire...

"You need to get up, you gotta get something before you let em get over on you, or you can stay in, lay down and do nothing, but, yo, nothing ain't something to lose!"
There you have it! Nothing isn't something to lose! Life doesnt live itself, you need to get up, get out, and get something. Heading out into the Mountains for the next 7 days starting from tomorrow! What I'll lack on posting I'll make up for in experience and future content!
While there may be so many options to choose from when it comes to choosing where to visit in these Mountains you have to agree that Monks Cowl is a solid bet! Got some fun adventures lined up! Camping, hiking, abseiling, river swimming, bird watching, night navigation, climbing new passes, chasing the last gasping breaths of Winter, exploring, dreaming, discovering! Should be a fun week with some good adventures ahead! Its always hard to get sleep the night before a Mountain adventure!
To complete the ode to Mark Twain that I already started I'll leave you with the rest of his quote..."Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didnāt do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails..."

We will just leave this here.
This seems particularly pertinent to me after the recent, not so brief, hiatus that was taken. But it still rings true. I guess sometimes in this great hike that we call life it's just a case of needing to keep on keeping on

Guess who's back, back again?
So I know, I know! It's been a while. Some of you probably even forgot about us. I kind of got in touch with my inner hermit and fell off the radar for a whole long while! When this page was started one of the rules was that I was doing this for NO ONE else other than me and my desire to share adventures and beautiful pictures, and I wouldnt ever let it become a burden or stressful! Life is already full enough of stresses! So while it may seem like I just forgot about this page the truth is life kind of happened and I needed some time to deal!
The past 6 weeks have been alot. Ups, downs, even some sideways! But I feel like I'm ready to enjoy posting again! Thanks needs to be offered to for rashing my ni***es over the past 2 weeks to pick things back up and keep moving along. You're a legend! So strap yourselves in for some fun and adventure as I find my stride with this Instagram thingamajig again!
I'll be out in the Mountains for the whole of next week so expect some radio silence then, but I'll more than make up for it with great pics if I come out the other side! Thanks for your patience. Love you all!
Peace out girl scouts!
*any guesses at the location of this picture?
"A man makes himself richer by making his needs fewer."
So a big thanks goes out to our friends and who braved the elements, and the Neanderthal, to make a cool video exploring how our buddy lives his day-to-day when he isn't staggering around the Mountains! No power, no running water, no toilet, no problem.
Its amazing how few luxuries you actually need to survive, and how much fun life can be without them! I guess when you love Mountain life as much as this delinquent does it only makes sense that you would want your home to replicate that way of life as closely as possible! And we all know there ain't no hot showers or any flushing toilets in our beloved Mountains!
So pour yourself some tea, put your feet up and give it a watch, or you know, do whatever you want!

"Most men fish their entire lives and never realize it is not the fish they are after"
So...this flipping guy! We took him on his first ever fly fishing excursion last winter and he went and bagged 3 fish first go! 3 freaking rainbow trout! Ok, they were all stockies but still, we just struck it up to beginners luck! That, and he had a flipping legend teaching him how to fly!
Fast forward 4 seasons and we went back out this Winter for him to have another go at catching a proper slab! And he damn well went and did it! Snatched this awesome Rainbow straight outta the reed bank just off the shore! Fished a slightly trickier dam this time under pretty not so prime conditions, but still, second time out and he got a new PB and a respectable one at that!
Once again Winter treated us to some of Her hidden treasures! It took to unlock the water and show us the spot! next time I think we will take you out on a stinking summer day to ruin your run of good luck!
Into the great wide open, under the skies all blue!
A cool little video and made of our little adventure into Mnweni last week! We put the link in our bio, do them a favor and go check it out on their YouTube page! They'll be posting more about their coming adventures over in Europe and beyond in the coming months as lockdown allows, so give their channel a subscribe if you like living vicariously through others!
Just excuse the neanderthal waffling on about the Mountains and Wildest Dreams, he can get a bit obsessed at times!
It was a new experience for our man , spending time in the Mountains with loads of cameras and "shot planning". Not the usual "escape to the wild" he is used to but still a blast none the less. Anytime in the Mountains is time really well spent! Plus he got to educate some ignorant delinquents about what good music is and who the Wu Tang are!

Its part of our DNA, the overwhelming desire and need to face things bigger than us, to take on challenges tougher than us, to climb Mountains higher than us and sail oceans deeper than us! Lean in to it, embrace the wild ride and just dont let go. Look for the opportunity to prove yourself š
