The disappointment of the Friendship Cup tournament was painful. After travelling all the way from KwaZulu-Natal, making all the preparations and having so much hope for the boys, seeing the tournament postponed was heartbreaking.

But instead of allowing that disappointment to break them, our Highlanders Football Academy U16 boys got back on the field and faced a Regional League/SAB senior team.

And they stood tall. 👊🏾⚽

A young U16 team competing against seniors and still producing a performance we can be proud of. That is character. That is resilience. That is Highlanders. ❤️🖤🤍

The Friendship Cup may have disappointed us, but it did not defeat us.

Proud of these boys. The journey continues. 🙏🏾⚽
