While earning a fancy shmancy psych degree, I discovered how much of this old form of talk therapy did not sit well with my beliefs. But don’t worry!
Something about sitting with a client months after months, rehashing the same story, problem or trauma seemed rather ridiculous (no offence to all the amazing psychologists out there!). While this may work for some, I slowly discovered that many people just weren’t getting the results they wanted or at least not as quickly as they would like. And I couldn’t understand how focusing on the problem o
r on the past for such a long time could really transform a person’s life. And that’s what I believe in – a transformation. Not a suppressing of a past experience, problem or negative emotion. I also believe there is a better, faster and more long-lasting ways of getting over these traumas, beliefs and problems. With the pressures of day-to-day life in what seems to be a rather unforgiving world, we tend to focus on the things we don’t have, the things that are wrong with our lives, and the things we fear to our very core. Our focus on these things are so strong and habitual that it becomes more and more difficult to see that we actually possess the power change and create a better lives for ourselves. I believe this so strongly that I embarked on a journey to prove this belief to the world. My belief took me on an amazing journey, which I am still on today. And I am so happy and excited to bring everything that I am passionate about and everything that I have learned to you. I know that if I can change my life for the better, that you can too. You don’t have to do it alone. I am here to help, support and guide you. It’s time to stop having life happen to you, and take control to make life happen.
