What a morning! β›ˆοΈ A spectacular thunder and lightning storm passed through a few hours before parkrun. Fortunately, not too much rain came down, and we were able to enjoy another great run.

We had 40 participants taking on the course.

πŸ₯‡ Simon Novell was first to cross the finish line in a time of 22:20.

πŸ‘ Well done, Simon, and well done to everyone who came out and ran, walked and supported Hout Bay parkrun this morning!

A big thank you, as always, to our fantastic volunteers and well done Run Director Geoffrey πŸ™Œ

See you next Saturday! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

What a great morning at Hout Bay parkrun! We had 55 participants crossing the finish line, with 7 fantastic volunteers helping to make the event happen. πŸ™Œ

πŸ₯‡ Desmond Fairall was first across the line in an impressive 18 minutes and 14 seconds. Well done, Desmond! πŸ‘

A huge thank you to all our volunteers for giving up their time and helping us put on another successful Hout Bay parkrun. ❀️

And a special shout-out to Geoffroy, who took on the Run Director role for the very first time today. πŸŽ‰ You did a great job, Geoffroy β€” and we’re delighted to say you’ll be back in the hot seat again next week! πŸ˜„

Thank you to everyone who came along, ran, walked, jogged, volunteered or simply cheered everyone on. That’s what makes Hout Bay parkrun such a great community. πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈβ€οΈ

See you all next Saturday! πŸŒΏπŸ‘Ÿ

What a morning at Hout Bay parkrun #351! πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

A cloudy, chilly morning greeted our 33 athletes, but thankfully the route wasn’t too wet! The 3 km section was a little soggy thanks to a drainpipe doing its best to add a water feature to the course! πŸ˜‚πŸ’¦

An unregistered runner took the win in an impressive 21:46. πŸ₯‡

A massive thank you to our 8 fantastic volunteers β€” we couldn’t do it without you! πŸ™Œ

Well done to everyone who ran, walked, jogged and enjoyed the morning. See you all next Saturday for #352! πŸŽ‰πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

And that’s a wrap on Hout Bay parkrun #350! πŸŽ‰

Nav Vaughan was first across the line in 24:18 β€” just 30 seconds slower than last week. Well done, Nav! πŸ‘

We had 47 hardy parkrunners and 9 fantastic volunteers braving a chilly 12Β°C morning. πŸ₯Ά The skies were a little cloudy, the route was mostly dry, with a few muddy bits thrown in for good measure! πŸ˜„

As always, a massive THANK YOU to our volunteers. πŸ™Œ Without you, parkrun simply wouldn’t happen.

And a special thanks to Chris, our Run Director, for getting everything set up and making sure we were all pointed in roughly the right direction! πŸ˜‰

A good time was had by all, and that’s our second parkrun of August done and dusted.

Have a great week, everyone, and see you all next Saturday! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸŽ‰

Hout Bay parkrun #349 saw Peter Copeland as the first across the finish line, stopping the clock at an impressive 19:52. Well done, Peter!

We had 66 walkers, joggers and runners enjoying another fantastic Saturday morning, supported by seven awesome volunteers, with Chris Wales keeping everything running smoothly as Run Director.

The weather was just about perfectβ€”no wind, no clouds, not too hot and not too cold. The course was dry, mud-free, and in great condition.

It was also great to see so many Scouts from 2nd Hout Bay proudly wearing their scarves to celebrate World Scout Scarf Day. The day commemorates the very first Scout camp on Brownsea Island in 1907 and reminds us all of the saying, β€œOnce a Scout, always a Scout.” Thanks for bringing such great spirit and colour to the event!

A huge shout-out to Fred and Chris, our paparazzi for the morning, for capturing all the smiles, sprints, and questionable running styles. πŸ“Έ Your photos are always appreciated!

And, of course, no parkrun morning is complete without coffee! A big thank you to Anton and the team at The Pelican for the excellent post-parkrun coffee and hospitality. β˜• It was the perfect way to round off a great morning.

See you all next Saturday for more kilometres, more smiles.
