In memory of our fond friend & cricketer, CALEB MAIR

The Fish Hoek Cricket Club is devastated at the news of the sudden passing of our teammate, friend & loyal member, Caleb Mair.

Caleb, as we all knew him was a young man whose enthusiasm on and around a sports field, knew no boundaries’. On Saturdays during the summer months, after rugby season had ended, he could be seen sprinting around the boundary, doing everything possible to prevent that extra run being taken, or diving full length to take the miraculous catch.

Caleb was always the first to offer to assist the team, whether it was keeping the scoreboard updated, to taking on the drinks during the break for batsmen who had been out at the crease for lengthy periods.

We fondly remember moments like this, and the time when he batted out the final few overs to save the match, earning the man of the match award. Again, his enthusiasm & steely determination shone bright, being the wonderful teammate we all loved at Fish Hoek Cricket Cub.
