We recently came across this incredible archive photo of our Head Surf Coach, Liam Wood, on Muizenberg beachfront, running group surf lessons as part of the Western Cape CPUT Faculty and the CPUT Transformation Programme.
This pioneering initiative was designed by the late Kenny Renquest, a passionate advocate dedicated to giving back to surfing and creating opportunities for others.
Photos like these remind us where it all began—from humble beachside lessons with new surfers to the growth of our surf community and coaching programmes today.
Every lesson, wave, and person who believed in the power of surfing helped shape this journey.
