This is a very interesting New Moon at 21 Cancer – 14 July - especially as the outer planets are all at 4 degrees of their respective signs.

Part of Body: Gastric mucosa
Sabian Symbol: A woman awaiting a sailboat.

This New Moon in Cancer is very much connected with the feminine. Moon is naturally associated with women and children and in Cancer food and protection. These are the basic needs of all living beings. The Moon is connected to our emotions and feelings. In Cancer it is about finding your way back home and symbolically this is a journey of the heart. Going inward. Finding a deep sense of belonging within.

Just before this New Moon, Mercury was exactly conjunct the Sun. This positions Mercury cazimi the Sun and gives it a seat next to the King - the Sun. Mercury has been retrograde in Cancer since 29 June and will travel direct again on 23 July in Cancer. This entire period has been about examining our thoughts and feelings around home, safety, family and belonging. What does this mean to each of us? Mercury is in a water sign of feeling and emotions. We have been encouraged to dig deeper and find connection with our thoughts and the heart. Are we truly aligned? Head and heart? The Sun is connected to the ego and the Moon aligns with our heart's desire. This is a deep calling to find your authentic self, your heart centre.

This New Moon squares Saturn in Aries. It asks some tough questions about our past actions and how they currently align with our new intentions. Saturn wants accountability and the respect of boundaries and understanding personal limitations. It is the planet that helps us say no - that is not my responsibility or yes - I accept that my past actions have harmed others in ways I didn't anticipate. With Mercury also squared Saturn we need to recognise how our thoughts and words can also cause harm - things we said or did not say. This is why it is so important to find your centre and then it is impossible to blame others for your actions or lack thereof.

Saturn sextiles it's ruler Mars and Uranus - this can be quite explosive. It supports this notion of taking responsibility for your actions. What lights you up?

Venus in Virgo asks about what truly matters? Relationships with people that matter and our connection to nature and the earth/harvest. Venus connected to Nodes asks us to look at our daily lives. Finding joy in your work and day to day life. How can we be useful to others?

Jupiter is also very important as it will oppose Pluto, trine Neptune and sextile Uranus as all these planets will find themselves at 4 degrees of their signs. This is extraordinarily powerful period in July. A true awakening for humanity.

Jupiter will magnify all these connections. Jupiter is connected to wealth, beliefs and justice. Jupiter is the teacher sharing wisdom. This is an extremely important time. What needs to be purged? What sacrifices are necessary to achieve the ideals we desire? Where have we deceived ourselves? Do you see yourself as a victim or a survivor? Can you take yourself on a healing journey? What new insights emerge?

Russia chart - flag raised - under huge pressure.

Pluto conjunct Saturn – March 2026 to Nov 2027 – government services and infrastructure collapse. Repressive regime.
Saturn square Nodes/Uranus – May 2026 to March 2027 – rebellious youth wanting resolutions.
Neptune square Sun – May 2026 to March 2027 – youth lost faith in leadership. Tired of empty promises – gas and fuel issues making life more uncertain.
Uranus square Moon - June 2026 to April 2027 – ordinary people have had enough. Getting on with ordinary tasks more difficult with all the disruptions from ongoing war and conflict with Ukraine. People more restless and wanting change.
Jupiter square Venus/Pluto and conjunct Asc – Oct 2026 to June 2027 – time of change – land and government. This is a repressive and extractive regime. Venus also rules neighbouring countries – Ukraine.

Certainly interesting watching what transpires in Russia as traditionally the Saturn/Neptune conjunction has resulted in the collapse of the regime. This cycle has repeated a number of times in 1989, 1953 and 1917. This year on 20 Feb 2026 Saturn and Neptune were exactly conjunct at 0 Aries signifying a realignment of the global post WW2 order. We are still witnessing the collapse. The old order is dead. The new order is struggling to be born. Change is inevitable.

Mars is triggering the US Uranus - this is an indication of continued conflict with a known enemy.

Mars is also triggering the Moon in chart of Iran - Islamic Republic. Ordinary people are calling for revenge killings. The funeral this past weekend saw thousands of Iranians on the streets in support of their fallen leader.

July is an important month astrologically with lots of tension and opportunity.

4 July – Mars conjunct Uranus – this is an intense drive for freedom and independence, revolution and social unrest. In sign of Gemini it certainly speaks about disruption and innovation in space of technology and communication/trade. But it also shows how war has fundamentally changed. Relatively cheap drones are an innovation the traditional military didn’t expect.

5 July – Mars sextile Neptune – the sacrifices connected to war and aggression. Martyrdom. Religious wars.
Mars trine Pluto – this is an aggressive signature of war and force. It could also represent a push back against those in power and control.

6 July – Sun square Saturn – knowing your limits – how does this apply to leaders across the world? Accountability.

7 July – Neptune retrograde – deception and ideals. What do we need to reconsider? Where have we been duped?

13 July – Venus square Uranus – this could be a volatile period for currencies and stocks

14 July – New Moon 21 Cancer – focus is home/family and sense of safety

15 July – Uranus sextile Neptune - revolution and innovation

18 July – Uranus trine Pluto – revolution, social change, what happens to those in absolute power? War and innovation. Natural disasters.

19 July – Mars sextile Saturn – accountability for actions or lack thereof. War – how does it end?

20 July – Jupiter opposed Pluto – force for good or evil? Once again what does Jupiter magnify? Pluto associated with death and decay, disease, tax and corruption, power and control. Financial collapse? Drowning in debt?
Jupiter trine Neptune – good fortune – too good to be true? Greed and corruption. How is this connected to religious and or spiritual leaders?

21 July – Jupiter sextile Uranus – social unrest and revolution – what does Jupiter magnify? Jupiter is associated with law and beliefs and in sign of Leo – leaders and Kings.

22 July – Sun in Leo – big focus on leaders across the world and Kings/royalty.

23 July – Mercury stations direct in Cancer – need to take care with what is written and or spoken. Don’t cause unnecessary harm.

25 July – Neptune sextile Pluto – ideals and power – what dissolves?

27 July – Sun opposed Pluto, sextile Uranus, trine Neptune – leadership crisis

29 July – Full Moon 6 Leo/Aquarius, Sun conjunct Jupiter – leadership in the spotlight – for the good or against the people?

This is a particularly transformative period in the world.

Last year in August 2025 Mars opposed Saturn/Neptune forming a kite and triggering the Saturn/Neptune conjunction in Aries. It was at this time that Trump met Putin in order to resolve the Ukraine war. Well nothing came from that – war is still ongoing as well as the conflict in the Middle East with Iran and Israel which has engulfed the entire region and the Strait of Hormuz disrupting oil, gas and fertiliser trade. Not to mention the US intervention in Venezuela in Jan 2026.

In July 2026 Jupiter moved into Leo (fire sign) and will stay in this sign for a year departing in July 2027. Jupiter now joins this configuration magnifying everything it touches. Jupiter is connected to the legal system, banking, higher education and religion. Jupiter is about abundance and excess. Leo is connected to leaders and Kings. Which leaders rise in this period and which fall?

Jupiter was conjunct Pluto in 2020 from April to November 2020 during Covid. Jupiter will now oppose Pluto. Pluto is associated with debt and taxation and we know how much cheap money flowed in Covid times and how indebted governments became in response to Covid. Lockdown had a dramatic impact on businesses across the globe as trade was blocked. Many business went bankrupt or their owners ended up getting into enormous debt or using all their savings to stay afloat.

We are now at an inflection point. And the world has changed post the Saturn/Neptune conjunction on 20 Feb 2026. The old order is crumbling and traditional alliances are fracturing. We still don’t fully understand how the order will be reorganised. Each Saturn/Neptune cycle (36 years) before this has been dramatic in Russia/Soviet Union and the expectation is that Russia will collapse as has happened in the past. The last cycle was in 1989 when the Berlin Wall collapsed and so did communism. Russia seems to be coming under enormous pressure from drone attacks to critical oil, gas and military infrastructure from relatively cheap Ukrainian drones.

We now have all outer planets – Pluto, Neptune and Uranus at 4 degrees of their respective signs – Aquarius, Aries and Gemini.

Mars will join Uranus exactly tomorrow on 4 July 2026. This is an explosive signature. Revolution, social unrest and natural disasters. We are already seeing incredible air and sea temperatures across the globe for the summer regions and talk of a super El Nino. This conjunction starts a significant line up of planetary pressure and towards the middle of July we witness 2 kites of free flowing tension and opportunities.

Looking at 19 July we see Moon opposed Neptune at 4 degrees. The Moon represents ordinary people especially women and children. The Moon also trines Pluto and Uranus. What transpires? We are in a struggle as ordinary people who feel let down by a system that seems to have protected the rich and powerful and neglected ordinary people. These sentiments are shared across the globe. The old order is breaking down and the new order is not yet born. People are disillusioned. Neptune is associated with oil and drugs and all illicit activities. Institutions have been undermined by corrupt and powerful individuals across the globe.

On this very same day Jupiter will oppose Pluto and sextile Moon and Uranus. Jupiter speaks about greed and corruption and issues with mounting debt. Which leaders and or Kings fall during this period? Uranus wants freedom.

It is this dance between the outer planets and Jupiter that create intrigue in July this year.

On 7th July Neptune stations retrograde. Deception, ideals, sacrifices – what will transpire? What happens to oil trade and illicit drug activities?

On 20 July Jupiter opposes Pluto directly – force for good or evil?

Mercury stations direct on 23 July in Cancer – we need to communicate with care and compassion.

Saturn stations retrograde on 26 July in Aries – accountability for our actions or lack thereof.

In South Africa the Madlanga Commission is literally unravelling the corruption and dysfunction in the police and across the criminal justice system. It seems like the first Commission that is finally achieving what ordinary South Africans have been wanting for a very long time – accountability. It has come with Saturn in Aries post the Saturn/Neptune conjunction – a system collapsing under the weight of lies and corruption. We are no different to the rest of the world – these issues are wide spread across the globe. International criminal cartels have been operating with impunity – let’s hope these days are numbered.

It’s time to build a new system that has integrity and one ordinary people trust.

This Full Moon at 8 Capricorn/Cancer highlights the tension we are feeling ahead of the 30 June deadline set by some organisations like March and March who are fed up with the issues related to illegal migration in SA. Emotions are running high and we need to focus on the facts.

It is very interesting to see this Full Moon in 9th/3rd houses of foreigners versus local communities. There is certainly tension and ordinary people feel let down by the system - governments failure to manage the borders legally over an extended period of time and deal with rampant corruption. Some of these organisations have put the blame on foreigners taking the jobs of locals and not at the failure of government over an extended period.

This T square involving Sun/Moon and Saturn/Neptune in 12th house highlights the issue - failure of government to manage the situation and failure to act and correct the short comings. Saturn and Neptune in 12th house highlights the corruption in the system - illicit trade and corruption of law enforcement system.

Moon is conjunct Facies - this is a destructive star and Moon is in detriment in Capricorn too. This adds to the unhappiness of ordinary people. Ruthless or victim? The Moon has triplicity rulership in Capricorn and the President has instructed people not to take the law into their own hands. Only law enforcement has the right to deal with this situation. Once again the Moon is out of bounds and this creates a greater tendency to extremes. Ordinary people in SA have lost trust in government and the legal system.

Mercury is stationary and moving retrograde in Cancer - the messaging is all about safety of local communities. This is fertile ground for opposition parties who have the most to gain especially as Jupiter moves into Leo in July and will oppose Pluto on 20 July.

Mars has moved into Gemini and will soon connect with Uranus in 2nd - the economic situation is volatile.

Pluto on MC highlights the crisis in government. It is imperative that the rotten apples within this government are purged.

In the next few weeks Pluto/Neptune and Uranus will all find themselves on 4 degrees and this will create the perfect circumstances for fundamental changes globally. Collapse and renewal - a process of creative destruction. What changes globally that will force change in SA?

Chiron on the Asc – the country and its people are dealing with a festering wound. It’s time to heal individually and collectively as a country.

Mars enters Gemini on 28 June and will conjunct Uranus exactly on 4 July 2026. This is a volatile signature associated with volcanic activity and social unrest. Interesting to see this Mars Uranus conjunction on the MC of New Zealand and look at the ring of volcanic activity on that day including New Zealand.

Pluto conjunct Saturn and South Node forces Sir Keir Starmer to resign. He appears to have ‘lost the dressing room’ as they would say in a sporting environment.

Birth time unknown.
