We are the first Breast Cancer Survivor Dragon Boat Racing Team in Africa! amabele’ means ‘breasts’ in Xhosa.Our team consist of ladies of all ages.

In less than 2 months the Belles will be at the IBCPC Festival in Aix-les-Bains, France! We will be 10 BCS paddlers and one coach. We are making up a composite team with Trifoglio Rosa Mestre (Italy), Hope Afloat USA 2 and Medbs Pink Dragon Warriors (Ireland). We are training hard and counting the days!

Flower Ceremony – 27 June 2026 🌸
In the quiet morning mist, we gathered on the water to honour and remember our dear teammate, Gouwa Waja Stemmet.
As the flowers drifted across the water, they carried our love, gratitude, and cherished memories. Though gone from our sight, Gouwa will always remain in our hearts and part of our amaBele Belles family.
