When our own Jessie Schoeman stood before the Western Province U18 Girls at their 2026 Capping Ceremony, she didn't only speak as a captain.

She spoke as someone who has lived the journey.

A player who has experienced the challenges, the sacrifices, and the barriers that still exist for girls' rugby. Yet despite those challenges, she reminded every player in that room why the fight is worth it.

From captaining DF Akademie, representing Up and Under, wearing the Western Province jersey, and representing South Africa at U18 level, Jessie continues to prove what is possible when talent meets perseverance.

Her message is simple:
The opportunities may not always be equal.
The road may not always be easy.
But the fight continues.

At Up and Under, we remain committed to building stronger pathways, creating more opportunities, and ensuring that the next generation of girls have an even better future than the last.

Our senior women had the opportunity to give back by joining our junior players during one of their skills & conditioning morning sessions. From demonstrations and coaching tips to encouragement and motivation, it was a great reminder of what makes our club special.

Our juniors could learn directly from players who have walked the pathway before them, while our seniors had the chance to invest in the next generation of Up and Under rugby players.

The future is bright, and we're proud to be building it as One Club, One Family.

Another tough afternoon in the WP Women's A-League, but another important step in our journey.

As the youngest squad in the competition, every match provides valuable lessons and opportunities to grow. While the result wasn't what we were aiming for, we're proud of the character shown by our players who continue to front up, compete, and represent the club with pride.

We're building for the future, and every challenge makes us stronger.

History made. In our very first WP Women’s A-League match, our Ladies in Gold secured a memorable 15–10 victory over St Georges RFC. 🤩

A massive congratulations to every player, coach and supporter who formed part of this special moment for our club. This result is a reflection of the hard work, belief and growth within our programme.

Our Senior Women officially take their first step into the WP Women’s A-League as they face off against St Georges RFC in Round 1.

This is more than just a match. It’s the start of a new chapter for our club and a pathway now fully built for the next generation of girls rugby players coming through our system.

We would love to see our community, families, supporters and rugby lovers on the sidelines as our Ladies in Gold make their A-League debut.
