Curro Aquatics proudly celebrates the outstanding achievements of our swimmers at the Africa Aquatics Zone IV and African Open Water Championships held in Mauritius from 6–7 June 2026. 🇿🇦 🏊

Representing South Africa, Julie Olivier, Madison Thirsk, and Savannah Thirsk competed against athletes from 14 African nations, with Coach Amy Pentz serving on the national coaching team.

🏅 Julie Olivier – Gold (Zone IV 5km) and Bronze (African Championships, 14–15 age group)
🥉 Savannah Thirsk – Bronze (Zone IV Championships, 14–15 age group)
👏 Maddison Thirsk – 8th place (Zone IV Championships, 16–18 age group)

What a memorable evening as we celebrated the dedication, perseverance, and achievements of our swimmers during the 2025/26 season.

The ceremony provided an opportunity to recognise the incredible accomplishments of our athletes who represented Curro Aquatics at Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Regional Championships, Junior Nationals, Youth Nationals, as well as Senior and Open Water Nationals.

A special thank you to our guest speaker, Simon Thirsk, retired South African swimmer, for sharing his inspiring journey and valuable insights with our swimmers and families.

Throughout the evening, each Curro Aquatics hub proudly acknowledged swimmers who embodied the values of hard work, commitment, and team spirit through the presentation of the following special awards:
