West Peninsula Darts Association – DSA 2026 Nationals

The countdown is almost over, and the stage is set for one of the biggest events on the South African darts calendar. From 11–18 July 2026, the West Peninsula Darts Association (WPDA) proudly sends its finest ladies and gentlemen to represent the association at the DSA National Championships at the Bellville Velodrome, Cape Town.

Representing clubs from across WPDA—including Atlantic Warriors, Boss, CTN, DG's, Dockside, Jokers, Opex, Rams, RDC, Sanddrift, Travellers and Titans—our players have earned the privilege of wearing the WPDA colours through dedication, hard work and outstanding performances throughout the season.

Leading the charge are our dedicated team managers, Robin Sweeney (Ladies) and Lou Ann van Blerk (Men), who have worked tirelessly in preparing their squads for the challenge ahead.

The A-Division Doubles competitions took place at the Jan Burger Sports Complex, bringing together top talent across the leagues for an intense showcase of precision and nerve.

Here is how the titles shook out across the Premier and First Leagues:

The Premier League division delivered high-caliber darts, with Dockside DC ultimately walking away with the championship silverware.

The First League action wrapped up at the end of the month, securing a spectacular division double for the Dockside club.

Club Performance Note: It was a massive tournament for Dockside DC, whose pairings claimed the gold in both the Premier and First League divisions.

B-Division Doubles Champions Crowned

22 June 2026 | Jan Burger Sports Complex

The Western Province Darts Association proudly hosted the B-Division Doubles competition on 22 June 2026 at the Jan Burger Sports Complex, where players delivered a night of outstanding darts, fierce competition, and exceptional sportsmanship.

After an exciting series of matches, Harry Carstens & Tim Bell representing Jokers Darts Club emerged as the B-Division Doubles Champions, producing consistent scoring and clinical finishing throughout the tournament to secure a well-deserved victory.

Finishing as worthy Runners-up were Peter Sampson & Cameron Sampson from Titans Darts Club, whose determination and quality performances earned them a place in the final after an impressive campaign.

Monday, 15 June 2026 at Jan Burger Sports Complex, Parow

The darts oche at the Jan Burger Sports Complex was electric on Monday night as the WPDA hosted the 3rd Division Doubles competition. Teams from across the association gathered to showcase their clinical finishing and steady nerves, delivering an evening of high-stakes, competitive darts.

Handré Taljaard & Eben Olivier (Dockside DC)

An absolute masterclass in teamwork and consistency. Handré Taljaard and Eben Olivier proved to be a formidable duo, executing crucial setups and clinical double-outs under immense pressure. Their synchronization on the night secured them the title of 3rd Division Doubles Champions, bringing pride and silverware back to Dockside DC.

THE RUNNERS-UP

Connor Faure & Kyle van Wyk (Rams DC)

Connor Faure and Kyle van Wyk fought tooth and nail to secure their place in the grand finale. Representing Rams DC with fantastic skill and sportsmanship, the duo put on a brilliant display of heavy scoring throughout the tournament. While they narrowly missed out on the top spot, their runner-up finish marks a stellar achievement in a highly competitive field.

Dockside DC Dominates Men’s Vets Doubles

It was a historic day for Dockside DC at the Men’s Vets Doubles tournament, with the club locking down both sides of the dartboard in a thrilling, all-Dockside championship match.

Taking home the title of Winners after a masterclass performance were George Klonaridis & Chris Mynhardt. The duo showcased exceptional consistency, sharp finishing, and the veteran composure needed to navigate a highly competitive field.

Stepping up as the formidable Runners-Up were teammates Johan Esterhuizen & JJ Olivier. They pushed the champions to the limit in a fantastic showcase of club talent, proving exactly why Dockside DC was the dominant force of the tournament.

A massive congratulations to George and Chris on their victory, and to Johan and JJ for an incredible run to the finals!

Gillian Davids and Diane Claassen Crowned Ladies Vets Doubles Darts Champions

The local WPDA competitive darts circuit witnessed an exceptional display of skill, precision, and veteran composure as the highly anticipated Ladies Vets Doubles reached its thrilling conclusion. The combined duo of Gillian Davids (Atlantic Warriors DC) and Diane Claassen (Dockside DC) emerged victorious to claim the prestigious title.

Representing a powerful inter-club partnership, Davids (Atlantic Warriors DC) and Claassen (Dockside DC) combined elite strategy and clinical finishing to dominate the final stages of the competition. Their synchronized performance on the oche proved formidable, securing them the top spot on the podium.

Finishing in a well-deserved second place as tournament Runners-Up were Johanessa Schutte (DG'S DC) and Beryl Beukes (Ravensmead DC). Schutte (DG'S DC) and Beukes (Ravensmead DC) demonstrated remarkable resilience and exceptional sportsmanship throughout the tournament, pushing the eventual champions in a spectacular showcase of competitive darts.

The Road to the Finals
The tournament brought together the federations finest players, but it was Diane Claassen of Dockside and Melanie Davids of the Atlantic Warriors who proved to be the class of the field. Both competitors marched through a highly competitive field, showcasing the depth of talent in the ladies' division.

A Championship Clash
The final lived up to all expectations, pitting Claassen’s clinical finishing against Davids’ relentless scoring power.

Diane Claassen (Dockside): Stepped up to the oche with immense focus. Representing Dockside with pride, Claassen capitalised on crucial opportunities, hitting her doubles under intense pressure to secure the tournament victory.

Melanie Davids (Atlantic Warriors): Put up a fierce fight to finish as a worthy runner-up. The Atlantic Warriors standout pushed Claassen all the way, demonstrating the grit and high-scoring capability that makes her one of the most formidable competitors in the league.

Dockside Double Act Dominates WPDA Premier Singles!

The Western Province Darts Association (WPDA) Premier Singles Dart Competition concluded in spectacular fashion on Monday, May 25, 2026, delivering an unforgettable night of high-caliber darts that ended in an absolute celebration for the Dockside Darts Club.

In a historic "Double Act" for the club, both the winner’s trophy and the runner-up honors went home to Dockside, proving once again that the club is a premier powerhouse for darting talent in the region.

The Championship Match: Klonaridis Takes the Crown
The atmosphere was electric as fellow club members George Klonaridis and Diane Claassen stepped up to the oche to battle for the prestigious Premier Singles title.

The Champion: George Klonaridis put on a masterclass performance, demonstrating flawless composure and clinical finishing. His scoring power kept the pressure mounted high from the very first leg, ultimately securing him the title of Premier Singles Champion.

The Runner-Up: Diane Claassen pushed the champion all the way, earning every bit of her title as the "Gritty Runner-Up". Claassen showed incredible resilience throughout the tournament, fighting back in tough legs and showcasing the elite precision that has made her one of the top competitors in the association.

The WPDA 2nd Division Singles competition has reached its dramatic conclusion, and we have a new champion standing at the top of the oche!

In what can only be described as a masterclass of focus and precision, Harry Carstens of the Jokers Dart Club claimed the prestigious 2nd Division Singles title. The final match lived up to all the pre-tournament hype, delivering a thrilling showdown that kept spectators on the edge of their seats until the final dart found its target.

The championship match brought together two of the division's most formidable competitors, representing a classic club rivalry:

WPDA witnessed a masterclass in precision and composure on Monday, 18 May 2026, as the highly anticipated 1st Division Singles competition unfolded at the Jan Burger Sports Complex. When the dust settled after a grueling night of high-stakes arrows, it was **Dillon Walsh** of Cape Town Darts Club (DC) who stood alone at the top, capturing the prestigious singles title.

The Grand Finale: Walsh vs. De Vries

The tournament pulled together the region's top tier talent, but the evening ultimately belonged to Walsh and his formidable final opponent, Matt de Vries of Dockside DC.

Both players marched through a fiercely competitive field to set up a mouth-watering clash of styles in the championship match:

Dillon Walsh (Cape Town DC): Showed relentless consistency on his trebles and clinical ex*****on on his finishing doubles throughout the knockout stages.
