Haul out your running gear and get down to Cosmos Park, Kosmos Street in Northmead next Tuesday. Our first of the new season will be a biggie, with Home Ground serving cappuccinos and the team from Puma on site to showcase shoes and let you take them for a spin. This event is part of the Joburg 10K series.

Our latest Big Cheese Award goes to Sipho Dzingwa for proving that age is just a number. As a Grand Master, Sipho has shown no signs of slowing down, achieving an incredible time of 3h33m at the Lesedi marathon earlier this year, an impressive 4h37m finish in the Two Oceans 56km, and a spectacular 9h36 at Comrades in June. He was also ’s fastest, and first Grand Master home.

It was a smaller contingent than usual at the Skukuza Half Marathon over the weekend, but a vibey bunch nonetheless. Congratulations to Casper Moodie for coming in Top Ten and well done to all our members who made the trip to the for this iconic race

If you don't consider yourself a runner, there is still a place for you at where our walking section offers weekly group walks and the opportunity to participate in road races as part of a fabulous team of like-minded people

We are deeply saddened to hear of the tragic passing on Sunday, 26 July of Egino Van Vuuren of Kempton Road Runners, who succumbed to the injuries he sustained during a hit and run while he was out running on 9 July. Egino was one of the runners who ran alongside Ruan Venter and Neil McCartney at the Bunny Park Comrades on 14 June. He completed 83kms that day and found the energy to dance to the music our support crew had blaring from the back of a bakkie. Egino was an entrenched part of the running community and had several friends at BNAC. Everyone is welcome to join the memorial run tomorrow
