We all love the game and we each have a story to share, today we'd like to share Shafaaz Shaik's experience with our community.

'My Last Man Stands Journey

A few months ago, I made a decision that would reignite a passion I have carried since childhood - I joined Last Man Stands (LMS) cricket.

Like many adults balancing careers, family responsibilities, studies, and everyday life, competitive cricket had become a distant memory. Yet the love for the game never disappeared. When the opportunity presented itself to join LMS, I embraced it with enthusiasm, not knowing just how rewarding the journey would become.

What started as a way to enjoy cricket again quickly evolved into a personal challenge. I wanted to contribute to my team, improve my skills, and prove to myself that age and time away from the game are not barriers to performance.

As the season progressed, I began finding consistency with the ball. Through discipline, preparation, and a determination to improve week after week, my performances steadily improved. One of the highlights of my journey was producing a remarkable spell that saw me take four wickets in four overs, a performance that put me firmly on the LMS radar and reminded me why I love this game.

Today, I am incredibly proud to be ranked 28th nationally and 62nd internationally among LMS bowlers. For someone who simply wanted to get back onto a cricket field and compete again, these rankings represent far more than numbers. They are evidence that commitment, hard work and self-belief can still produce remarkable results.

My current season statistics include:

* 12 matches played
* 42.4 overs bowled
* 9 wickets taken
* Bowling average of 24.56
* Economy rate of 5.26 runs per over
* Best bowling figures of 4/7
* Ranked 28th nationally in LMS bowling rankings
* Ranked 62nd internationally in LMS bowling rankings

While statistics tell part of the story, the true value of this journey has been much deeper.

LMS has provided an opportunity to reconnect with the competitive spirit, build new friendships, and experience the camaraderie that makes cricket such a special game. It has reinforced important life lessons that apply both on and off the field - discipline, resilience, teamwork, and the willingness to keep improving.'
