This 5-week program is designed to give players more options on court and help them understand which tactic to use depending on the situation in front of them.

Players will work on:

✨ Attacking strategies for different court scenarios
✨ Different defensive approaches depending on the player and situation

🏐 Trial-Day Nerves - My daughter performs well all season but falls apart at trials.

Trials create a completely different kind of pressure.

Players feel like they only have a few minutes to prove they are good enough. Instead of playing instinctively, they begin analysing every pass, every lead and every mistake.

They worry so much about impressing the selectors that the confident player everyone knows disappears.

How can parents help?

The conversation before trials matters. Instead of focusing on selection, help your child identify what they can control.

Try saying:

👩 **Parent:** “What are you most nervous about?”

🏐 **Player:** “Making a mistake and the selectors thinking I’m not good enough.”

👩 **Parent:** “You probably will make a mistake, everyone at trials will. What can you do immediately afterwards?”

🏐 **Player:** “Reset and go again.”

👩 **Parent:** “Exactly. You can’t control who is watching, how the other players perform or the final team selected. What can you control?”

🏐 **Player:** “My effort and attitude.”

👩 **Parent:** “That’s your job today. Keep moving and ask for the ball again even after a mistake. I’m already proud of you for putting yourself out there.”

Players shouldn’t arrive at trials hoping they won’t feel nervous.

They should arrive knowing what to do when those nerves appear. 🔥

💔 Its the end of the season and your teenage player suddenly says she wants to quit netball.

It may look sudden, but the feeling has often been building for months.

She might be struggling with confidence, body changes, team cliques, selection disappointment, pressure or the feeling that netball has become another place where she is constantly being judged.

She may still love the game but no longer love how the environment makes her feel.

Before convincing her to stay, find out why she actually wants to leave.

✅ Ask what has changed.
✅ Listen without immediately solving or dismissing it.
✅ Consider a different team, level, coach or position.
✅ Reduce the training load if she feels overwhelmed.
✅ Give her permission to play socially rather than competitively.
✅ Reconnect her with the parts of netball she once enjoyed.

And if there is still a love for the game, remember keeping a player in netball doesn’t always mean pushing her towards the highest level.

Sometimes it means helping her find a version of the game she can enjoy again. ❤️
