October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀

This month is very close to my heart. My grandmother sadly passed away from breast cancer, and my mum is a survivor. Their journeys remind me just how important awareness, early detection, and support really are.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide. The good news is that survival rates have improved dramatically over the years, thanks to greater awareness, research, and early detection.

💗 The message is simple: if you find a lump, no matter how small, get it checked by your GP. Don’t wait, don’t brush it off, and don’t be afraid. Early detection saves lives.

Families and friends play such an important role—encourage your loved ones to keep up with regular checks and appointments, and remind them that looking after their health is never something to feel guilty about.

This month, let’s wear pink, share stories, and most importantly, spread the message: check, don’t ignore.

🎀 For those fighting, surviving, and remembering—we stand with you.

September Movement Moments
This month has been an inner struggle after picking up an injury early on. It’s humbled me and reminded me of my own advice: keep mobility and movement going each day. I’ve slowed things down—focusing on daily mobility, time on the stationary bike, and, once allowed, easing back into walking.

I’m now awaiting clearance to start running again next week. The silver lining? Mobility has been amazing—I’ve noticed better range of movement and fewer niggles. It may feel slow, even pointless at times, but I can honestly say mobility will be a non-negotiable daily routine for me moving forward.

Outside of recovery, I was lucky to explore Perth this month—visiting Kings Park and the Terracotta Warriors display. Absolutely incredible, and a must-see if you get the chance!

Oh and a new run kit xx
We also celebrated my son’s 30th Birthday, time just flys by.

Keep moving, and remember to explore something new in your own town or city. 🌿✨

August Movement Moments 🌿
August was a slower month for me as I recovered from a pretty bad flu, but I still made sure to enjoy some beautiful movement moments.

On a warm winter’s day, I explored Ironstone Gully Falls in Capel — a peaceful 1.5km trail along the river’s edge with a perfect little picnic spot. The following week, I headed back to one of my favourites, the Marri walk Trail in the Dardanup Conservation Park. With so many tracks to choose from, including parts that connect with the Munda Biddi Trail, it’s always a great place to explore.

This time I managed to walk/run the trail twice, clocking up almost 16km. But exploring trails doesn’t always have to mean big kilometres — it’s about movement, being outdoors, and discovering new places.

✨ Here’s to more movement and adventure, one step at a time.

After flu season, it can take a while for our bodies to bounce back. Movement plays a big role in recovery – here are three simple things you can do to help your body restore strength and energy:

💨 Gentle walks – Fresh air and light walking support lung function and circulation without pushing too hard.
🧘 Mobility & stretching – Helps release stiffness, restore flexibility, and ease any body aches left over from being unwell.
🏋️ Light strength work – Even a few bodyweight exercises can rebuild muscle that may have weakened during rest.

Movement doesn’t have to be intense – the goal is to support healing, rebuild resilience, and remind your body it’s ready to thrive again. 🌿

July was a bit of a mixed bag for me! I spent two weeks in Brisbane for work and had the opportunity to enjoy some walking, hiking and even a little running around the city - plus catching up with some very special friends ❤️. On the flip side, July also bought along a nasty flu that took some time to recover from, so this post is coming to you a little later than planned. Grateful for the movement I was able to do, the people I connected with, and now feeling stronger again heading into next month.

Giving back never felt so inspiring. 💚
Spent the weekend volunteering at the Cape2Cape ultra, watching some absolutely incredible humans push through 50 and 100 miles of rugged WA coastline.

The grit, determination, and community out there was something else. Honoured to support the runners chasing big goals through this stunning part of the world. 🌊🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️💪

Big love to the organisers, crews, and every runner who inspired us with every step. 🙌

Movement Matters — Especially After 50! 🏃‍♀️💪

One of the biggest benefits of staying active as we age is maintaining physical function — think muscle strength, balance, and coordination. These are the keys to staying independent and making everyday tasks like walking, carrying groceries, or climbing stairs feel easier and safer.

👉 Here are two easy ways to keep moving today:
1. Take a 10-minute walk after each meal — it helps with digestion and keeps your joints moving.
2. Try a simple balance exercise, like standing on one foot while brushing your teeth.

Every little bit counts — your future self will thank you! 💚
