has had a busy day supporting the finals of the Luganville Ward games.
4 ward areas were represented with 4 men's & women's teams:
Central, East, West & Sarakata wards.

This week has seen Luganville Day (29 Aug) celebrations kick of in SANMA Province's main town.
And is there, supporting the Luganville Ward games.
There are 4 ward areas represented:
1. Central ward
2. East ward
3. West ward
4. Sarakata ward
Wednesday afternoon saw the opening ceremony, with the Luganville Lord Mayor and SANMA Sports officer giving their speeches before the sports activities began.

Friday will be the final day of sports activities with prize giving happening tomorrow (Saturday), Luganville Day 29th August.
organised the sport activities, in partnership with (LCM) Luganville Municipal Council.
It is the first time the SSC has organised the sports activities in Luganville town for Luganville Day ... a great experience for everyone.
The theme of the event - Tugeta Yumi Buildim Strong Mo Healthy Luganville.

Great to see BVB Women appearing on ABC Pacific 'That Pacific Sports Show'.
Adding to that excitement was the story which followed their interview which was a feature piece on Vanuatu Paralympic Committee and the newly establish Vanuatu Vaa'a Federation and the drive to develop Para Vaa'a in the islands.
Very proud of the work our program partner VPC is doing across the islands for people with disabilities getting involved in sport.

That Pacific Sports Show: Wednesday 26/8/2026 Tiana Penitani Gray and Sam Wykes chat to Vanuatu beach volleyball stars Miller Pata, Sherysyn Toko and rising basketballer Ezekiel Webb, before visiting the Maskelyne Islands to explore Vanuatu's growing Va'a movement.

Can't wait to be a part of the SANMA Provincial Games, supporting volleyball as one of the 10 sports activities across the week.

The Vanuatu Paralympic Committee (VPC) is preparing to welcome new athletes from all six provinces for this year’s National Para Championship, which will begin in three weeks.

Another brilliant session on Wednesday, delivered by development officers Chantale & Manu, at Vanuatu Society for People with Disability with lots to learn, discuss and, of course, sitting volleyball to play!

Para sport gives new purpose to amputee athlete Jeffrey Iatu After losing his right leg below the knee, Jeffrey Iatu faced an uncertain future, questioning how he would rebuild his life after the amputation.

There is nothing more satisfying than when a program sees the impact of its work ... and this is what happened last week at the South Pentecost Independence Celebration Tournament.

Participants in the V4C program delivered in Pentecost earlier in the year were prominent in officiating (refs, lines people, scoring) the volleyball games at this event, as well as playing, in this tournament.

The referees came from both Pangi and Baie Barrrier communities, and bought their own ref t-shirts (light blue) as their officiating uniform.
The team that won the women’s tournament came from Pangi, with many of the players having been V4C program participants.
