Vanuatu national players Rachel Andrew and Nasimana Navaika are heading into finals cricket after an impressive regular season with Southern Districts Cricket Club, who finished top of the Division 1 Darwin and Districts Womenβs competition.
Both players are currently ranked among the top 10 champion players in the competition after strong all-round seasons.

New cricket elective gets underway at PVIS ππ₯³

The finalists are set for the Port Vila T20 Finals following an exciting weekend of semi-final action.
In the Women's T20, Indy Chiefs Women secured a 34-run victory over Tafea Cricket Club Women to book their place in the final. After posting 77/6, Indy Chiefs delivered a disciplined performance with the ball to restrict Tafea to 43/6. Susan Stephen top-scored with 17, while Zhuren Aaron impressed with an unbeaten 13 before claiming two wickets alongside Florian Aaron to help seal the win.
In the Men's T20, Splashe Mele Bulls Men produced an outstanding run chase to defeat Tafea Sandalwood by four wickets. Chasing 155, Clement Tommy stole the show with a brilliant 83 from 54 balls, guiding his side to 155/6 with nine balls remaining. Earlier, Williamsing Nalisa's unbeaten 46 had helped Tafea Sandalwood post a competitive 154/7, while Rival Samson and Wally Mansale kept the chase within reach with two wickets each.

PCS Independence Cup 2026 Champions
Congratulations to Tafea Sandalwood and Splashe Mele Bulls Women on being crowned the PCS Independence Cup 2026 Champions.
Tafea Sandalwood claimed the men's title with a commanding eight-wicket victory over Splashe Mele Bulls Men, while Splashe Mele Bulls Women secured the women's championship with a 42-run win over Indy Chiefs Women.
The finals showcased outstanding cricket, with impressive performances from players across both competitions. Milestone awards were also presented to recognise the tournament's top performers for their achievements throughout the Independence Cup.
The Vanuatu Cricket Association extends its sincere appreciation to Power and Communication Solutions (PCS) for their continued support as the tournament's major sponsor. Thank you also to all participating teams, match officials, volunteers and supporters for making the 2026 PCS Independence Cup another successful celebration of cricket in Vanuatu.

Port Vila District Cricket Championship 2026 | Tournament Wrap-Up
The Port Vila District Cricket Championship concluded with two outstanding performances as teams battled for top honours.
Independence Park Cricket Club claimed a convincing 7-wicket victory over Seaside Cricket Club, successfully chasing 105 in just 13.1 overs after dismissing Seaside for 104. Steffan Sandy starred with an all-round performance, taking 3/20 before finishing unbeaten on 37 off 18 balls, while Sebastien Banga anchored the chase with an unbeaten 36.
In the 3rd Place Playoff, Fres Wota 4 Cricket Club secured third place with a dominant 117-run victory over Fres Wota 5 Cricket Club. William Laumai (63) and Andrew Wilson (51) powered their side to 185/5, before Kenny Moruk delivered a match-winning spell of 5/19 to bowl Fres Wota 5 out for 68.
