During the final days of the Vietnam War, an LCM-8 landing craft, famously known by the nickname “Mike Boat,” performed its final mission at Con Dao. Designed by the Marinette Marine Corp and utilized by the US military, this ship has witnessed many fierce battles and became an indispensable part of amphibious operations.

On a stormy day, while returning from a military transport mission, the LCM-8 encountered a massive tempest. High waves and strong winds made the ship uncontrollable, and it eventually sank to the bottom of the sea.

Today, it still lies there peacefully, transforming into an attractive wreck dive destination for adventurers eager to explore the mysteries of the ocean bed.
