The U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Federation is proud to host all six CONCACAF Nations League fixtures on home soil, bringing international football to Bethlehem Soccer Complex in St. Croix.

The U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Federation is proud to recognize referee Argie Naga, who recently had the opportunity to serve as an Assistant Referee for two matches in La Liga Puerto Rico.

Experiences like these provide valuable opportunities for our match officials to continue developing, gaining experience in competitive environments, and representing the U.S. Virgin Islands beyond our shores.

USVISF Connects with UVI Students Through Soccer, Futsal & Career Opportunities

The U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Federation recently visited the University of the Virgin Islands’ St. Thomas campus to connect with students and introduce them to the growing opportunities within soccer and futsal across the territory.

During the visit, USVISF staff engaged with UVI students through conversations about the game, the Federation’s work, and the many roles that contribute to the development of football beyond the field. Staff members also shared their personal experiences working within the USVISF and provided insight into the professional pathways available within sports administration, coaching, media, communications, event operations, player development, and other areas of the organization.

The session provided an opportunity to not only promote participation in soccer and futsal, but also to encourage students to explore how their talents, education, and professional interests can contribute to the continued growth of football in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The USVISF is proud to engage with the next generation of Virgin Islanders and looks forward to continuing to build stronger connections between education, sport, and professional development throughout our community.

USVISF Strengthens Coaching Development Through CFU Workshops in Punta Cana

The U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Federation (USVISF) continued its commitment to strengthening the technical development of football across the territory by sending two representatives to specialized Caribbean Football Union (CFU) coaching development programmes held recently in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

Nicholas stepped into the Interim Technical Director position earlier this year while USVISF conducted an extensive international search for its next permanent Technical Director. Throughout that period, he helped provide continuity to the Federation’s technical operations while continuing to support its national teams, youth development initiatives and broader technical programming.

Newly appointed USVISF Youth Development Officer Dante Nicholas participated in the CFU Elite Youth Coaches Workshop, while Denali Nicholas represented the USVISF at the CFU Elite Youth Goalkeeper Coaching Course. Both programmes were conducted alongside the 2026 CFU Boys’ U-14 Challenge Series and formed part of the broader FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS), with support from CFU and Concacaf. The workshops provided coaches from across the Caribbean with opportunities to strengthen their technical knowledge, exchange ideas and gain practical experience through sessions connected to international youth competition.

The CFU Elite Youth Coaches Workshop focused on modern approaches to youth development, with participating coaches able to connect classroom and technical learning to the realities of international youth football through match observation and practical application. The goalkeeper programme placed specific emphasis on the specialized development of young goalkeepers, helping coaches expand their approaches to technical development, decision-making and confidence-building.

For the USVISF, the participation of Dante Nicholas and Denali Nicholas represents another investment in building a stronger and more sustainable technical pathway for football in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The knowledge and experience gained in Punta Cana will contribute to the Federation's continued efforts to improve youth development, strengthen coaching standards and create a more comprehensive pathway for developing the next generation of Dashing Eagles.

The USVISF remains committed to providing its technical staff and coaches with opportunities to learn from regional and international best practices while bringing that knowledge home to benefit players, clubs and national teams throughout the U.S. Virgin Islands.

USVISF Recognizes Dante Nicholas for Interim Technical Director Service and Announces Promotion to Youth Development Officer

The U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Federation (USVISF) is pleased to announce the promotion of Dante Nicholas to Youth Development Officer, while recognizing his service and leadership as the Federation’s Interim Technical Director during an important period for USVI soccer.

Nicholas stepped into the Interim Technical Director position earlier this year while USVISF conducted an extensive international search for its next permanent Technical Director. Throughout that period, he helped provide continuity to the Federation’s technical operations while continuing to support its national teams, youth development initiatives and broader technical programming.

With the appointment of Philip Neiland as Technical Director, Nicholas will now transition into the role of Youth Development Officer, allowing him to place greater focus on one of the Federation’s most important priorities: building and strengthening the pathway for young players throughout the Virgin Islands.

“We want to sincerely thank Dante for stepping forward when the Federation needed him,” said Firas Idheileh, USVISF General Secretary. “Serving as Interim Technical Director came with significant responsibility, particularly while we were undertaking such an extensive search for the permanent position. Dante provided continuity during that process and remained committed to moving our programs forward.”

Nicholas previously served as Assistant Technical Director, and his promotion to Youth Development Officer reflects USVISF’s continued investment in strengthening its technical department and creating clearly defined areas of responsibility within the Federation.

“Dante has demonstrated his commitment to soccer development in the Virgin Islands, and we believe this position allows him to focus his experience and energy in an area that is fundamental to our future,” Idheileh added. “The development of our young players must remain at the center of everything we are building. We are pleased that Dante will continue to be an important part of our technical team as we enter this next phase.”

As Youth Development Officer, Nicholas will work alongside the Technical Director and other members of the USVISF technical team to support grassroots and youth soccer programming, player-development pathways, talent identification and the continued growth of opportunities for young players across St. Croix, St. Thomas and St. John.

USVISF thanks Nicholas for his willingness to serve as Interim Technical Director and looks forward to his continued contribution to the development of soccer throughout the Virgin Islands.

The U.S. Virgin Islands U-14 Dashing Eagles may have left the 2026 Caribbean Football Union Challenge Series in Punta Cana without a victory. But, this was a developmental competition for a group of boys assembled just a few months ago and competing together internationally as a national team for the first time. Match by match, individual growth became increasingly visible, with players gaining confidence, learning from difficult moments and taking important steps forward. By the second half of the final match against Grenada, there were signs of a team beginning to understand its identity, hold its shape and execute with greater discipline.

For the USVI Soccer Federation, the Challenge Series was another important building block in the long-term development of these young players. The results will be evaluated, the lessons will be carried forward and the group will continue to be developed toward where it needs to be. The wins will come later; the growth starts now. To the Dashing Eagles: keep working, keep learning and keep believing. Every challenge you faced in Punta Cana is part of your journey, and every step forward brings you closer to the players and team you have the potential to become. This is development, and the future remains full of promise.
