Today Vincentian basketball players Craiglee Sam (Founder of Breakthrough Basketball Academy) and Austin Derrick (played in Taiwan and Hong Kong), as well as Referee Shem Ollivierre guest coached our Kids Basketball Camp today.

Special thanks to them for their time and effort, as well as our local coaches for offering these weekly sessions for youth in the community. And thank you as well to Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Friday for stopping by to show his support.

🇻🇨 WELCOME OUR LOCALLY-BASED PLAYERS 🇻🇨

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Men’s Senior Basketball Team proudly welcomes our locally-based representatives selected to compete at the FIBA AmeriCup 2029 Caribbean Pre-Qualifiers this July 8–12, 2026 in Georgetown, Guyana.

Following a series of competitive national tryout sessions held in Calliaqua and New Montrose, Jermaine John, Elton Joseph and Steveon Taylor have earned the opportunity to wear the blue, yellow and green as they represent Team SVG on the regional stage.

Their selection is a testament to their hard work, dedication and commitment to the growth of basketball here at home. They now join their teammates as the nation prepares for a major challenge against the Caribbean’s best. Special thanks to all who tried out.
