Nomonjon Radjabov — Champion of the 6th World Nomad Games!

🇰🇬The Kurash competitions held as part of the 6th World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan’s Issyk-Kul Region were organized at a high level and concluded with intense and fiercely contested matches.

🏅In the +90 kg weight category, representatives of 22 countries competed for the title. In the decisive final match, Uzbekistan’s Nomonjon Radjabov defeated experienced Iranian athlete Sadegh Azarang, winner of the 19th Asian Games in Kurash, by a narrow margin, earning the prestigious title of champion of the 6th World Nomad Games.

The bronze medals went to Turkmenistan’s Ylham Kemelov and host nation Kyrgyzstan’s athlete Telek Kurolov. Notably, Telek Kurolov was also the winner of the 3rd World Nomad Games, held in Issyk-Kul in 2018.

❗️The Kurash competitions at the 6th World Nomad Games brought athletes from different countries of the world together around a single Gilam, once again demonstrating the sport’s rich heritage, high values, and international significance.

Representatives of 22 countries will compete in the Kurash events of the 6th World Nomad Games

🏆Among the participants are world Kurash champions, winners of prestigious international tournaments, and medalists of the Asian Games. This promises that the competitions will be held at a high sporting level with uncompromising matches.

📍The matches taking place on the central Gilam of the “Gazprom” sports complex in the city of Issyk-Kul will be broadcast live on Kyrgyzstan’s Nomad, Sport, and five other television and radio channels.

📺In addition, the competitions will be broadcast via satellite in more than 50 countries around the world.

Japanese Referee Visits IKA Headquarters

🔰A participant of the International Refereeing Seminar, Japanese referee Kayoko Moriyama, visited the Headquarters of the International Kurash Association (IKA).

During her visit, she met with Khabibulla Tadjiyev, Rector of the International Kurash Institute, and Mohammad Reza Nassiri, General Secretary of IKA. During the meeting, Ms. Moriyama expressed her sincere gratitude to the organizers for the knowledge and practical experience she gained throughout the seminar.

🇯🇵The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange views on the development of Kurash at the international level, referee training, and upcoming prestigious competitions. IKA General Secretary Mohammad Reza Nassiri wished Ms. Moriyama success and good luck at the upcoming Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan.

📌As part of her visit, the guest also became acquainted with the activities of the International Kurash Museum, where she learned more about the rich history of the national sport and the key stages of its international development.

International Refereeing Course Successfully Concludes

🇺🇿The professional development seminar for referees participating in the Asian Games, organized by the International Kurash Association (IKA) and the International Kurash Institute (IKI), has successfully concluded.

🎉The closing ceremony and final banquet held as part of the seminar were organized in a warm and festive atmosphere. Musical performances, traditional dances, and a cultural programme provided participants with memorable moments and added to the celebratory spirit of the event.

❗️The ceremony was attended by IKA General Secretary Mohammad Reza Nassiri, IKA Technical Director Ravi Kapoor, IKA Head of Administration Mansur Mirzaev, IKI Rector Khabibulla Tadjiyev, IKI Professor Kim Eur Joong, and IKA Press Secretary Jamshid Namozov.

One of the highlights of the event was the ceremonial presentation of internationally recognized certificates to the participants.

📌The course represented an important step towards enhancing the professional qualifications of international referees, establishing unified refereeing standards, and further strengthening the international standing and reputation of Kurash.
