River started her EPIC journey with Cosmic as a Rec cheerleader and has continued to work her way up—now she’s a proud Cosmic Queen competing on our All Star Prep Level 1 team! 👑🌌

❤️ WHY WE COACH WEDNESDAY ❤️
✨ Coach Somara ✨

Sometimes, it’s hard to put into words exactly why you coach… because it becomes so much more than teaching a skill.

I coach because I love watching athletes discover what they’re capable of. ❤️

I love the moments when something that once seemed impossible finally clicks. The excitement on their face. The pride in their voice. The confidence that comes from realizing, “I really can do this.”

But even more than the skills, I love being part of their journey.

Since the beginning of EPIC Training Center, I’ve had the privilege of watching athletes grow—not just as athletes, but as people. I’ve watched them overcome fear, push through frustration, find their confidence, and accomplish things they once didn’t believe they could.

And those relationships… they mean everything. 🥹❤️

Being someone an athlete can trust, someone who encourages them when they’re struggling, celebrates with them when they succeed, and reminds them to keep going when they want to give up—that’s what makes coaching so special to me.

Because yes, the skills are amazing. The big moments are exciting. And hearing “I CAN’T DO THIS!” 😂 turn into “I DID IT!” will never get old.

But knowing that I may have played even a small part in helping an athlete believe in themselves…

That’s why I coach. ❤️

I’m incredibly grateful for every athlete who has trusted me to be part of their story, and I’m even more grateful that I get to call EPIC home. 🖤✨

✨ EPIC ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT: TESSA! ✨

It’s Tessa’s turn in the spotlight! ❤️💙 And we had to find out what keeps her coming back, what she loves most at practice, and what cheer has taught her along the way!

💪 What makes you want to keep getting better?
“Cheer makes me want to keep getting better so I can level up and get to have more fun experiences!”

🌀 Favorite thing to do at practice?
“Flying in the barrel rolls! They are really fun!” 😍

🤪 Something cheer has taught you?
Tessa says cheer has taught her how to be part of a team with people she loves, make good friendships, and most importantly, be herself! She’s learned not to be afraid to show that goofy personality. 💕

And we LOVE that! 🥰 Cheer is about the skills, but it’s also about the people you meet, the friendships you make, and having a place where you can truly be YOU.

💙 WHY WE COACH WEDNESDAY 💙
✨ Featuring Coach Dakota ✨

For Coach Dakota, coaching has become so much more than just a role—it has become a second home for her family. 🥹

“I coach because I want every athlete who walks through our doors to feel wanted and important. My goal is for everyone to build friendships that will last a lifetime while making fun memories along the way.” 💙

Dakota was first introduced to EPIC by a fellow mom when her daughter was just 8 years old. Fast forward to today—her daughter is 13, and Dakota is heading into SEASON 6 with EPIC! 🤯✨

And yes… there was a time when EPIC practices meant soccer fields lit up by car headlights in the parking lot! 😂🚗💡

She started as a parent sitting on the sidelines, watching the athletes grow together. But after that first competition, she knew she wanted to be a bigger part of it.

Athletes arriving early to cheer each other on.
Athletes staying late to cheer each other on.
Families becoming friends.
Coaches becoming family. ❤️

That’s what hooked her—and six seasons later, she couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.

Coach Dakota, thank you for creating a space where athletes feel seen, valued, supported, and loved. We are SO lucky to have you as part of the EPIC family! 🫶🏼

💜 More Than a Place to Train… It’s a Place to Belong. 💜

At EPIC, we get to watch these athletes grow right before our eyes—not only in their skills, but in who they are becoming.

We see the little victories that may not seem so little to them. The moments they finally believe in themselves. The friendships that turn into family.

The coaches who become some of their biggest supporters. The teammates who are there through the wins, the struggles, the laughter, and everything in between. 🥹💜

One day, the practices will end. The uniforms and dance shoes will be packed away. But we hope they’ll always remember how they felt here—supported, encouraged, celebrated, and loved.

Because being EPIC was never just about the skills they learned.

It’s about the confidence they gained, the people they found, the memories they made, and the person they became along the way. ✨

That’s what makes us EPIC. Together. 💜💚

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on BRYNN! 💫

If you’ve been watching Brynn’s journey, you’ve probably noticed something… THIS GIRL HAS GROWN! 👏🔥

Brynn has put in the WORK! From flying classes and clinics to practicing at home, she has taken every opportunity to improve her skills—and that hard work has PAID OFF! 💪✨

Last year, Brynn was part of our rec team, and this year she has earned her spot on our FIRST Elite Level 1 team—Sirius! 🌟🚀

But it’s not just her skills that make Brynn shine. She’s a true teammate, kind to everyone, and always brings her personality to the mat! And, as you can see… she does ALL the things just so she doesn’t get bored! 😂💀

💜 What do you love most about cheer and dance?
“Because it’s fun! I have a lot of friends on my team—it’s so entertaining. If I didn’t do this, I would just be at home sitting around.”

💜 What is your favorite thing about being a part of EPIC?
“Coach Luis! He says, ‘Bring the sass, BRYNN!’ So I love being sassy—it’s fun!” 😂💁‍♀️

💜 How has cheerleading or being part of our program helped you grow?
“Well, I have much more confidence now as a flyer. I used to be SOOOOO scared! I also learned a new skill—my Valdez!!!” 🙌🔥

✨ WHY WE COACH WEDNESDAY ✨

Meet Coach Valerie 🖤

When Coach Valerie first came to EPIC, she wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Her daughter was just 4 years old, they were practicing out on a field, and she had no idea that first season with the Invaders would grow into something so much bigger. 🖤

The following season, she joined the coaching staff—and she’s been part of the EPIC family ever since!

Over the years, there have been so many smiles, laughs, memories, and bonds built along the way. Somewhere in the middle of it all, her fellow coaches became family. ❤️

So why does Coach Valerie coach?

Because she wants every athlete to know they are seen, valued, and believed in—even on the days they don’t believe in themselves.

She wants them to learn to believe in themselves as much as she believes in them. Because when they do, anything is possible. ✨

And if they carry that confidence with them long after their cheer days are over, then that’s the biggest win of all. 🖤
