🔌 OFFICIALLY DISCONNECTED.

No more CGMs. No more Oura Ring. No more constantly checking, tracking, comparing, analyzing or wondering what a device thinks about my body.

Before January of this year, I really wasn’t connected to anything. Then I started experimenting with the Oura Ring to see what all the buzz was about…and aside from taking a couple of weeks off here and there, I’ve had something monitoring me pretty much all year.

And I’m ready for a break.

There is absolutely value in data. I’ve learned a LOT from it. But I also think there can be a point where constantly being connected starts to feel like it’s draining more energy than it’s giving back.

So from now through October — and maybe longer — I’m going OFFLINE from the wearables. ✌️

Instead, I’m going to pay attention to the original “trackers”:

✨ My energy
✨ My digestion
✨ My sleep and how I actually FEEL when I wake up
✨ My workouts and recovery
✨ My mood
✨ My hunger and fullness
✨ My intuition
✨ And simply…how my body feels

No score telling me whether I recovered well.
No graph telling me how I slept.
No glucose number after every meal.

Just me, my body, and paying attention.

Sometimes gathering data is the experiment.

And sometimes disconnecting IS the experiment. 🌿

I’m curious to see what I notice when I stop looking at the numbers and start listening a little more closely to myself.

💥 MIXFIT POWER UP! 💥

Today was all about combos, control, and a little sneaky strength work! 😏💪🏽

We put the slam balls to work with all kinds of movement combinations—and somehow those hamstrings ended up doing a LOT more work than they probably expected! 💥🦵

Then we moved into single-side sit-to-stand combinations, which are such a great way to see how each side of the body moves independently.

Sometimes one side feels stronger, steadier, or more coordinated than the other—and that’s not a bad thing. It’s information! 👏

Finding those little side-to-side differences gives us an opportunity to build better balance, stability, and strength where we need it most.

That’s what training for life is all about—not just getting through the workout, but learning more about how YOUR body moves and getting stronger along the way. ❤️

Another great POWER UP in the books!

Who else felt those hamstrings sneaking into the party today?!
😂🔥

Thanks for showing up! 💪🏽💥🙏🏽

MONDAY MORNING MIXFIT
💪🏽💥

What better way to kick off the week than getting STRONG together?!

This morning we added pull-ups into the MIXFIT mix—challenging our back, arms, grip strength, and core.

AND we took it to the BOSU for some core stability work with kettlebells.

Because training for life isn’t just about lifting heavier—it’s about being able to pull, push, balance, stabilize, and CONTROL your body.

And yes…sometimes that pull- up bar or wobbly BOSU has a way of reminding us exactly where we need a little more work. 😂

Great job showing up and starting the week STRONG! 💪🏽💥🙏🏽

🏡 WELCOME TO MY HAPPY PLACE!💪🏽💥

This little home exercise studio has seen a LOT over the years — early mornings, sweaty workouts, new ideas, family fun, heavy weights, loud music, laughter, challenges, victories…and probably a few choice words during the harder workouts. 😂

But more than anything, this space makes me HAPPY. ❤️

It’s where I get to move, create, recharge and practice what I preach: TRAIN FOR LIFE.

And this week, I get to take a little bit of that energy with me into MIXFIT!

🔥 Strength
🔥 Conditioning
🔥 Balance + mobility
🔥 Core
🔥 A little “what does Jeanette have planned for us today?!” 😆
🔥 And a whole lot of good people moving together

Every class is different.
Every fitness level is welcome.
You choose your weights, work at your pace, and make the workout YOURS.

MIXFIT isn’t about being the fittest person in the room. It’s about continuing to show up so you can be strong for the life you want to live.

Here’s to another week of moving, lifting, laughing and TRAINING FOR LIFE! 💪❤️

📊 CGM EXPERIMENT UPDATE: Popcorn + 💪🏽 Exercise & Only TWO Days Left!

As my Stelo vs. Lingo experiment winds down, I’m continuing to test some of the foods that have surprised me—especially popcorn! 🍿

On Friday, after a heavy lifting session, I had popcorn around 4 PM, paired with a kiwi 🥝 and 1 cup of cottage cheese.

My readings:

🔵 Stelo: 97 mg/dL
🟢 Lingo: 105 mg/dL

Compare that with some of my previous popcorn readings, and it’s another reminder that we can’t always look at a food in isolation.

What we eat with it,
what we did beforehand,
timing,
sleep,
stress
and
our individual physiology
can all influence
the glucose response.

Then today came another interesting comparison.

BEFORE a 30-minute hard interval run:
🔵 Stelo: 111
🟢 Lingo: 130

AFTER:
🔵 Stelo: 117
🟢 Lingo: 117
🩸 Fingerstick: 115

They started 19 points apart and finished at exactly the same number—with my fingerstick only 2 points away!

And remember, glucose doesn’t necessarily fall during hard exercise. Higher-intensity work can signal the body to release stored glucose so your muscles have readily available fuel. 💪

💥💥💥💥💥
After nearly two weeks of two CGMs, my Oura Ring, my phone, graphs, numbers and constant DATA…I have to say:

I’m ready to unplug. 🌿

Only two days left. 🙏🏽

I’m fascinated by what I’ve learned, but maybe one of my biggest takeaways is that technology can give us information—it shouldn’t make us feel like we need to monitor every bite, workout or moment of our lives.

Sometimes we need to put the numbers away and simply listen to our bodies, move, eat and LIVE. ❤️

🔥 FRIDAY MORNING MIXFIT — TRAINING FOR LIFE! 🔥

Friday morning workout = DONE! 💪🏽💥 🙌

Another MIXFIT in the books, and another reminder that we’re not just training to get through a workout… we’re training for LIFE.

We squat, push, pull, carry, balance, move, sweat and challenge ourselves so we can keep doing ALL the things we love outside of the gym.

And there’s something pretty great about finishing a workout before much of the world has even started its Friday. ☀️

Thank you to everyone who showed up, worked hard and brought the energy this morning!

Strong today. Capable tomorrow. Training for LIFE. ❤️

🍿 What caused my highest glucose rise over TWO weeks of monitoring?

Surprisingly… POPCORN.

After nearly two weeks of wearing CGMs and watching how my glucose responds to different foods, workouts, sleep, stress and everyday life, the highest rise I’ve seen so far happened after eating popcorn- twice.

But there are TWO important details:

👉 I never ate the popcorn alone. I paired it with about ¼ cup of pistachios.

👉 I ate it in the evening, after 6 PM.

Why does that matter?

Popcorn is primarily carbohydrate, while pistachios provide fat, protein and fiber, which can help slow digestion and potentially moderate the glucose response.

And timing is interesting too. Research suggests that our bodies can handle glucose differently depending on the time of day, with insulin sensitivity generally tending to be lower later in the day. That doesn’t mean “don’t eat carbs after 6 PM!” — but it does give me another variable to explore.

And yet… popcorn still produced my biggest rise.

Does that mean popcorn is BAD? No.

One thing this experiment keeps reinforcing for me is:

A glucose spike is information—not a food grade.

Portion size, food pairing, timing, movement, sleep, stress, hormones and even what you ate earlier in the day can influence the response.

🍿 Now I’m curious: 🧐

What happens if I eat the same amount of popcorn earlier in the day?

Or what if I try it with and without the pistachios?

The experiment continues! 🔬
