Barbarians Youth Rugby The Wrentham Barbarians is a youth rugby club in Wrentham, MA dedicated to teaching and growing rugby

The Wrentham Barbarians Youth Flag and Tackle Rugby programs for boys and girls in Grades PK through 12, run Sunday mornings, 9 AM to 10:30 AM, at the William A. Rice Recreational Area soccer fields behind the basketball courts. The program involves skills training on basic rules, ball handling, passing, and kicking. Players are required to bring a mouth guard and should wear what they would normally wear for football or soccer. The coaches promote Safety as Rule #1, making sure the field is safe to play on, making sure the players are respectful to one another and do not deliberately hurt each other. Players will be trained and played in groups based on the safety issues of age, skill, size and team awareness. On Sunday, our older middle schoolers players stepped up from the flag program to become members of our contact team and were welcomed by perfect rugby weather!!

They immediately bonded with the high school players because the Barbarians are a family.

Exiles RFC is very happy to see another women’s college rugby program coming to Georgia, particularly to Middle Georgia.

Wesleyan College Athletics is adding Women’s Rugby as an official athletic program, with Chris Parks, head coach of our good friends at Macon Love Rugby and a fellow Georgia Rugby Union club, chosen to lead the program.

This is a meaningful addition to the rugby pathway in our state, creating another opportunity for young women to continue playing the game at the collegiate level. We certainly hope that some of our own Exiles Academy Girls will benefit from this program and from Wesleyan College in the years ahead.

Congratulations to Christopher Parks and Wesleyan College Athletics on truly growing the game.
