🌎💙 Welcome Week is underway at the Central Community Branch YMCA!

Yesterday, our team kicked off the week by proudly wearing our Welcome Week shirts featuring different languages, celebrating the diversity that makes our Y community so special!

Throughout the week, we’re inviting members and non-members to stop by, participate in activities, and visit our Welcome Week Photo Booth 📸.

Each evening, one of our directors will also be in the lobby for an informational hour! Cone meet our team, ask questions, and learn more about everything happening at the YMCA

Building stronger families and stronger communities!

The Central Community Branch was honored to host an important conversation highlighting Central MA Senior Connection and the Grandfamily Village initiative, an innovative effort designed to support grandparents who are stepping in to raise their grandchildren.

Grandfamily Village is about more than affordable housing. The vision includes creating a supportive community where grandfamilies can access resources such as respite care, community health workers, and other services that help families thrive.

We were honored to welcome U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren, Congressman Jim McGovern, Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, Senator Robyn Kennedy, David LeBoeuf, State Representative for this important discussion about affordable housing and the unique needs of grandparents raising grandchildren.

Most importantly, we celebrate Senior Connection and Moses Dixon for leading the charge on this important work, championing the Grandfamily Village vision and ensuring the voices and lived experiences of grandparents remain at the center of the conversation. A special thank you to Brenda Jenkins and Cassandra for sharing their personal experiences and helping bring greater awareness to the realities facing grandparents raising grandchildren.

At the Y, we are proud to be a place where community, connection, and meaningful conversations happen. It was truly an honor to open our doors and help uplift this important work that has the potential to make a lasting difference for grandfamilies in Worcester and beyond. ❤️

🎶☀️ WHAT A SUMMER AT FULLER FAMILY PARK! ☀️🎶

As the school year brings and the summer comes to a close, we’re looking back on an incredible YMCA Summer Concert Series at Fuller Family Park! 💙

Throughout the summer, our park was filled with music, laughter, dancing, families, friends, and COMMUNITY! Each concert brought something special:

🎵 We kicked off the summer with WUTY 97.9 Worcester Community Connection, bringing great music, energy, activities, and plenty of summer fun to the park!

🎷 Jazz Night had us enjoying the smooth sounds of Kfingers while families gathered throughout the park to relax, connect, and enjoy a beautiful summer evening together.

🙌🏾🎶 And we closed out the series on a high note with Gospel Night, featuring Jubilee Worcester Worship and Kingdom Voice & Music Praise! It was an uplifting evening filled with powerful music, joy, praise, and community spirit.

❤️ A HUGE thank you to all of the families and community members who joined us throughout the summer. Whether you came for one concert or joined us for them all, YOU helped make these evenings special!

👏🏾 Thank you to our incredible performers, YMCA staff, volunteers, community partners, and participants who helped bring each event to life.

🌟 And a very special THANK YOU to the City of Worcester, our sponsor, for helping make this FREE Summer Concert Series possible for our community. Your support allows us to continue creating spaces where families can gather, connect, and make memories together.

Each year our branch holds a clinic followed by our basketball league. Don’t miss the opportunity to get your kids involved, stay active, build their skills, and have fun on the court.
