After an eventful two days of our league championship, we head into Sunday as follows:

Tier 1:

Championship: Sled Preds B (Home) vs. Belle Tire (Away), East Rink, 11:40 a.m.

Consolation: Falcons (Home) vs. Wildcats (Away), East Rink, 8:00 a.m.

Tier 2:

Championship: TBD based on remaining 3 games of pool play tomorrow. East Rink, 1:00 p.m.

Tier 3:

Championship: Admirals (Home) vs. Hornets (Away), Eagles Ice Center, 9:20 a.m.

Consolation: Walleye (Home) vs. Sled Preds C (Away, Eagles Ice Center, 8:00 a.m.

The HSHL Championships are this weekend 3/22-3/24 in Grand Rapids. Thank you to Mary Free Bed Wheelchair and Adaptive Sports and Steve Kozlowski for hosting. Good luck to all 13 of our league teams!

The stage has been set for the Heartland Sled Hockey League HSHL Championship (March 22-24) as Turnstone hosted the final league games heading into the big dance. 16 teams traveled from six states this weekend at the 16th Annual Bob Chase Frostbite Classic.

The Sled Preds B team (Nashville, TN) continued their winning ways by going 4-0 with a 4-3 victory over the Adaptive Sports Ohio Wildcats (Wooster, OH) and 4-2 over the GLASA Falcons (Chicago, IL). Both the Wildcats and Falcons went 3-1. The Falcons defeated Belle Tire (Detroit, MI) 4-3 and Mary Free Bed Wheelchair and Adaptive Sports Sled Wings (Grand Rapids, MI) 3-0. The Wildcats had the advantage over the Central Illinois Sled Hockey Association - NFP Thunder (Bloomington, IL) 7-4.

The Thunder went an impressive 3-1 with tight victories over Sled Wings 2-1 and 3-2 over the Hornets (Chicago, IL). The Hornets went 2-2 with a 4-3 battle over the Steel (Indianapolis, IN). The Steel also went 2-2 as they upset the host team, Turnstone 2-1 after losing the previous two matchups this season. These two teams will face-off in the State Championships March 10 with non-league team River City Sled Rovers (South Bend, IN). The Sled Wings had three of their four games decided by three goals or less (3, 2 & 1) as they snuck out a 2-0 victory over the Icebreakers (Cincinnati, OH). The Adaptive Sports Ohio Walleye (Toledo, OH) found success in a 3-1 victory over the Sled Preds C team.

In the youth division three of the four teams went 2-1 in the round robin that created a very exciting final four match-ups. The Sled Preds defeated Belle Tire 4-1 in the Championship Game while the Thunder finished 3rd with a 3-1 victory over the Steel. In the round robin matches the Thunder defeated the Sled Preds 1-0 while Belle Tire defeated the Thunder 4-0.
