SERA would like to congratulate and wish the best of luck to 5 of it's 2026 attendees who have been selected to attend the NHL Officiating Combine this weekend. Those officials are Ashley Johnston, Mason Payne, Josh Horowitz, Brett Brodie and Andrew Wilson. Good luck to all of you.

As we get ready to kick off SERA 2026 today, we must introduce our last instructor, camp founder Deric Boehm. Deric is currently a referee in the SPHL and AHA NCAA D1. He started SERA back in 2017 to help give officials new opportunities and resources, so they can advance in their officiating career. And with that last intro, we welcome all participants to SERA 2026 this weekend.

SSSHHHEEEE'SSS BAAACK!!!! Her and all her flare. We excited to welcome Sarah Cammarata who is our power skating coach. This will be Sarah's second year with us and after overwhelming demand, we had no choice but to bring he back this year. She brings the camp up a notch and gives very detailed instruction on the ice. Can't wait to see what she has in store this year.

Next up is Brett Straley. Coming to us from Chicago, Brett is heavily involved in all things hockey. Currently a referee in the SPHL and NCAA D3, he is a very experienced official on the ice and knows his way around a classroom pretty well also. This will be year 2 for Brett at SERA and we are excited to have him back.

Next instructor up, Mark Dungan. Mark is "currently" a referee in the SPHL and AHA Division 1. Mark has been with SERA since it's inception in 2017, only missing 1 year with us for the NHL combine. Mark is a huge asset in the classroom for us and this year will be returning to the ice to add to that instruction as well. Welcome back Dungy.

On to the next instructor and it just happens to be another one who is celebrating his birthday today. We are excited to welcome back crowd favorite and undisputed locker room guy Evan Knox. Knox has been with us 7 out of the nine years we have been running The Academy. He is currently a linesman in the ECHL and brings years of experience with him. Happy Birthday Knoxy glad you're back.

Instructor #3, returning this year is Kyle Gaspari. This will be Kyle's second year with us and we are honored to have him back. He is currently skating as a full time ECHL linesman. Gas brings not only a wealth of knowledge to the staff but also a little extra flare. Welcome back Kyle.
