Why do we spend so much time on progressions? 🤔
It’s not just to help someone learn a movement for the first time (although that’s a huge part of it).
Progressions help everyone.
Breaking a skill into smaller pieces gives us the chance to identify exactly where the movement starts to break down. Is it a strength limitation? Mobility? Stability? Timing? Body awareness?
Instead of repeating the full movement over and over with the same faults, we can isolate the missing piece, improve it, and build the skill back up with confidence.
That’s why you’ll see beginners and experienced athletes working through the same progression—just at different levels.
The goal isn’t to rush to the final movement. It’s to build a movement that is strong, efficient, and repeatable for years to come. 💪
