We are all saddened by the news of the passing of one of the true warriors of modern FMA.
GM Chiu has told the story of talking with GM Doug and hearing him say “I wanna go fight to prove Professors stuff worked!”
And Doug was one badass fighter by ALL accounts. And did it WELL in his later years proving he could still go!
Condolences to his family and to the Modern Arnis community.

We know that today may be a celebration of three day weekend for some.
A time for family and fun and food for so many around the country.
But let us not forget how it is that we have those privileges.
How it is that we get to enjoy that three day weekend. How it is that we get to celebrate.
We get to do enjoy those privileges because of the few and brave who decided to take up arms and defend this country from all enemies foreign and domestic.
They fight and some fall for us.
Today as you celebrate, take a moment and reflect on that sacrifice. Parents out there, maybe teach your young ones about it. Explain the sacrifice, explain the privilege, explain what this day is all about.
We here at Arnis International want to do the same and remember those who never got to come home.
God bless our troops and God bless America.
