Ascension Athletics will be joining NCDOT Division 9 for the 2026 Safety Stand Down, a private event for North Carolina state employees.

Our participation will be led by Coach Omori C Lee as we educate approximately 300 attendees each day on health and wellness.

Today was our FIRST Functional Fitness class for 60+ crew💪🏾

These ladies learned that fitness isn’t just about working out it’s about staying strong, capable, and independent for as long as possible.

We worked on:
👟 The importance of proper footwear
🪑 Sitting and standing without using your hands
🍑 Activating the hip abductors when standing and moving
💪🏾 Strengthening the core and upper body so everyday tasks, like carrying groceries, stay EASY
These are the things that help us continue doing life on our own terms as we age.

Thank you to every lady who showed up and put in the work today! We’ll definitely be doing it again soon.

Now the question is… WHO’S COMING NEXT TIME? 👀💪🏾
