She may have a few gray hairs and prefer the comfortable life these days, but put a rooster in front of her and some things never change. 😂

At 12 years old, Halo has earned the right to spend her Saturdays however she damn well pleases.

Did you know a hen pheasant will occasionally lay an egg in another bird’s nest—including a prairie chicken’s?
It’s called nest parasitism, and researchers have documented it in both greater and lesser prairie-chicken nests.
The pheasant egg may hatch before the prairie-chicken eggs. That early hatch can cause the prairie-chicken hen to leave the nest before her own eggs hatch—potentially costing her the entire clutch.
It's rare, but it’s a real pheasant behavior that very few hunters know about.
