Ok guys and gals. Trout season is just a few weeks away and the temps are dropping. It looks like we have some much needed rain coming and nights will be dipping into the 60s and maybe the 50s, I am looking forward to fall fishing. Guided trips are available and we have been booking quite a few but there is definitely room for more. So if you’re needing some guidance in any fashion, casting, nymphing, knots, rig setup etc. We are fully staffed with 5 guides and look forward to helping you with your needs.

I am on a trash bender. I looked back over the past 40 some years of outdoor recreation and can honestly say Im done. Done with you destroying everything in your path, taking what is not yours. The outdoors is everyone’s to pass down, not pass over. Throwing your trash down tells me everything I need to know about you. Every time I see you I’ll report you. Take your trash home and throw it down in your own damn yard. Just stop being a piece of s**t human

I have always loved photography, capturing moments that you may never see again. This picture takin in Montana happened close and I couldn’t be happier about how it turned out. The red tail hawk has a very wide habitat range and they love fences and fields. The mountains in the background ain’t to bad either.

So we are moving into the cooler months and the question I get is, are the smallmouth still eating come fall? ANSWER. Yes, and patterns ? Crayfish are molting and minnows are schooled up. I have been going extremely light on my lines, SA air cel floating 185 grain, 40’ head. 4-6’ of 6 lb maxima depending on my size of streamer I use. I specifically see minnow patterns having more attention with a direct bank hit and tight line drift to allow the game changer to roll along. Once the attention of the fish is present, a few quick strips and WHAM O. Same with crayfish patterns, understand I am typically fishing 2’- 5’ of water and sight fishing mostly. Now if your fishing home waters, you know where they are. Out here blind casting in water that looks fishy ? Stay consistent, like my granpappy always said, “ KISS METHOD” Keep It Simple Stupid. I have pretty much kept my patterns in a three to six inch range and 3-4 different patterns. That will target all the big boys Im after. Tan game changers, black, purple, brown and yellow, orangish s*x dungeons, black hellgrammite patterns and frog patterns. 🐸 i am looking for aggressive fish, big hungry smallmouth. Anybody else have some input ? See you on the water

I usually dont post to much about picking up your trash. This mornings haul. Sorry you left your address and name in the bags, goof ball. Im amazed everyday at the people who supposedly love the outdoors, throw their trash down every where.
