Roberson Claims Modified Mafia Wi******er Nationals; Wilkins and Hoffman Score Victories at Wi******er

WI******ER, VA — With a threatening forecast and a high probability of rain Saturday evening, Wi******er Speedway pressed forward with a three-division program headlined by the $5,000-to-win Modifed Mafia Wi******er Nationals. The show was completed with Logan Roberson taking the 40-lap UMP Modified feature, Jason Wilkins dominating the Hobby Stock Nationals, and Sam Hoffman breaking through for his first career Wi******er Speedway victory in Pure Stocks.
In the UMP Modifieds, Chris Arnold set fast time in time trials at 16.551 seconds, won the Climb to the Pole, and led the opening 12 laps of the 40-lap feature. Fifth place starting Logan Roberson took command on lap 13 and navigated heavy lapped traffic through a lengthy green-flag run before a late race caution returned on lap 35 for 2026 Wi******er Speedway UMP Modified Track Champion Justin Cullum suffering a flat tire. With five laps remaining, Roberson was strong on the restart and pulled away from the field to claim victory by 2.566 seconds. Arnold finished second, Austin Holcombe was third, Ray Kable fourth, and Michael Altobelli fifth. Heat race wins went to Jesse Rupe, Ryan Toole, and Altobelli.
In the Hobby Stock Nationals, Jason Wilkins was the man to beat throughout the night. Wilkins set fast time during hot-lap time trials with a lap of 17.631 seconds before winning his heat race. Randy Linaburg claimed the other heat victory. Wilkins continued his strong night in the feature, jumping out front and leading flag-to-flag to score the Hobby Stock Nationals victory. Keith Reed finished second, Tyler Fisher was third, Shane McQuay fourth, and Justin Hottle completed the top five.
In Pure Stock action, Chris Sumption, behind the wheel of Brandon Lowery’s #21, captured the lone heat race and started from the pole for the feature. At the drop of the green, however, Sam Hoffman was quick to jump to the lead and never looked back, leading flag-to-flag to secure his first career Wi******er Speedway feature victory. Davin Kaiser crossed the line second, followed by Sumption in third, Andy Adkins fourth, and Ricky Edmonds fifth.
Wi******er Speedway returns to action Saturday, September 19, with the RUSH Touring Series Nationals for Crate Late Models, paying $5,000 to win. Also on the card will be the $1,000-to-win East Coast Legends Nationals with support action from the Hobby Stocks. Pit passes is $40 and grandstand admission is $20. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:00PM, with gate opening times pending final confirmation.
