Last month we ran our biggest Bully Proof Seminar yet, and this time we did something new: we split it into two age groups.

Why? Because the way a 5-year-old handles a bully looks nothing like how a 10-year-old handles one. Different words, different scenarios, different confidence-building tools. So instead of a one-size-fits-all talk, each group got real, age-appropriate strategies they can actually use.

Every kid walked away “Bully Proof Certified” 💪 — proud, confident, and a little more prepared for whatever the playground throws at them.

Huge thanks to every family who came out. This is exactly the kind of stuff we love doing at Elevated Studios.

5 weeks. 1 goal: get on the mats and stay consistent. It leads right into our fall adult promotions — and while the challenge isn’t required to get promoted, consistent training is exactly how you get there.

✅ One card per student — get your coach to sign a square every time you train
🥉 Bronze — 10 classes (2x/week)

Please help us wish a very special Happy Birthday to Joe Condello! 🎉🥋

Today, Joe turns 70 and I honestly can’t think of a better person to celebrate.

I’ve known Joe for nearly 30 years. Over that time, he has been not only a longtime friend, but also someone I’ve looked up to and learned from . . . a mentor in many ways. And I’ve had the incredible honor of being the one to tie his black belt around his waist.

Joe is one of those people who leaves an impression on everyone around him. He is kind. He is helpful. He is the kind of person you can always count on. And perhaps most of all, he is incredibly resilient.

Joe has dealt with more than his fair share of injuries and challenges over the years, but you will never hear him complain. He just keeps showing up. He keeps training. He keeps learning. He keeps helping others.

That kind of consistency and toughness is something you can’t teach.

Joe is a model of what martial arts can look like over a lifetime . . . not just the techniques or the belts, but the character that gets built along the way. It’s an honor to have him as part of our community.

Happy 70th Birthday, Joe! 🥋❤️

MEET RENEE PLYLER

Renee is the co-owner, program director, and women’s program instructor at Elevated Studios. She received her black belt from her husband, Stephen, in 2025.

Renee’s attention to detail and focus on organization has shown to be the perfect complement to Stephen’s intense passion for the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Together, they have built a martial arts academy that truly stands out from the rest.

After receiving her bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education, Renee taught for over ten years. During that time, she received her master’s degree in reading education and thoroughly enjoyed guiding first graders on their literacy journey. When Renee met Stephen and discovered the art of jiu-jitsu for herself and the empowerment that it provided, she found her direction in life shifting. Not only did she find this martial art to be like an extreme sport for the mind and body, but she also found a greater understanding of her husband’s passion and wanted nothing more than to help him make his dreams come true.
