Janosik Polish Dance Ensemble THE JANOSIK DANCERS are an educational, recreational, and cultural organization primarily interested in learning and performing Polish folk dances.

Since its inception in October of 1971, Janosik has been devoted to the learning and performing of Polish dance, Polish song, and the preservation and dissemination of Polish customs and culture. Janosik is best known as a performing ensemble, but since 1972 it has given much toward the teaching and the spread of the love of things Polish, to the Polish community in this country, to non-Poles, and to the people of Poland. Janosik has had special workshops with the Polish State Folk Dance and Song Ensemble, Mazowsze, whenever they visited Philadelphia. There has also been a workshop with members ot Slask, another well-known company of Poland. Janosik is a non-profit and tax-exempt corporation. We welcome performers from all backgrounds to learn about authentic Polish dance.

Earlier this year, Janosik celebrated 55 years of sharing Polish culture in dance and song.
The celebration in Philadelphia featured a dance performance, the Grand Polonez, catching up with alumni, dancing, and dinner.
After dinner there were acknowledgments presented by Janosik president Geoffrey Selling and the 55th Anniversary Celebration organizers Ann Louise Pyzik-Colduvell and Linda Banashek Sena. This was followed by surprise presentations and amazing gifts from our special guests from PKM Polish Folk Dance Ensemble and Ojczyzna Polish Dancers, and from the Honorary Consulate of Poland in Maryland. We are grateful for their thoughtful words and helping us celebrate!
This was a fun and successful event that took place of our 50th anniversary, which postponed due to the pandemic.
