🚨 Attention Connecticut Division Cadet & Junior Fencers! 🚨

There has been an important change to the Junior Olympic Qualifying requirements.

A minimum of 4 fencers must be registered in each event/category for that qualifier to run. If an event does not have at least four registered fencers, it cannot be held, and those fencers will not have the opportunity to qualify through that event.

🚨SITS took over the Nutmeg State Games this weekend winning multiple medals! (and ratings 😏!)

11‼️ SITS Fencers Competed this past weekend in Newtown

🥇Ariff Jeff (TRFC/SITS) brought home gold in the E & Under Senior Men’s Foil event, earning his D2026. Ariff was previously unrated.

🥈Mia Persechino (SITS) fought her way to a second place finish in E & Under Senior Women’s Foil!

🥇🥈🥉SITS almost swept the Senior Men’s Epee event podium!! Sparrow Belliveau (SITS) edged out his brother Raven Belliveau (SITS) in the final to earn an A2026! Sam Zelin (ALLEZ/SITS) also went home with some hardware, finishing in third place and renewing his B rating! Klaire Gielegheim (OSU/SITS) finished in 7th place to upgrade her D2026 to a C2026!

Congratulations to all of the SITS fencers who competed at the Nutmeg State Games !! Your coaches are all incredibly proud of your achievements and dedication !! 🎉 Another special thank you goes to Candlewood Fencing Center for hosting this event!

Iconic Fencing Club in Wallingford, CT is hosting a Foil and Epee Summer Camp next week, July 13-17, from 9-4 each week day. The cost for the camp is $400 for the week, and participants will have the opportunity to work with Iconic owner/Head Coach and Cheshire High School Coach Cooper Johnson, former international fencer and Coach of North Haven High School Stu Holmes, and Coach Khris White who is the head coach of Sacred Heart University.

Coach Johnson is an experienced Coach and a great fencer. This is a great opportunity for foil fencers specifically as a Foil Camp is something SITS hopes to host in the future but currently does not currently offer.

Camps are a great tool to quickly up level your fencing through condensed, focused training. They are a way to gain a lot of fencing experience in a short period of time and a great opportunity to make new friends while doing it.
