Wyoming 6’s is dedicated to growing the sport of lacrosse in Northeastern Pennsylvania with the emphasis on smaller format games, mostly 6-6. Our founders are Haudenosaunee 6 Nations citizens, the first athletes to play the Creators Game, and who once called the Wyoming Valley home. We are located primarily in the Wyoming Valley Sports Dome but plan to host games throughout NEPA. STUDENTS:
We are not an elite “travel club” but a “training club”, designed for anyone who wants to contribute, at some point, in their academic athletic career. That being said, if you want to go D1, you’ve also found the right place! We will provide all students with the right level of support based on their work ethic and ambition. We also offer work-play and scholarship opportunities, for those who need financial assistance. We will supplement school/travel/club teams by providing players additional with year-round playing opportunities, through pick-up 6’s lacrosse games and specialized training sessions. We offer a wide variety of free benefits to schools and clubs, including stick tuning, gear giveaways/discounts, and assistance to coaching staff. We hope to help local non-lacrosse schools launch PIAA varsity programs, by developing their players in the smaller 6’s format. ADULTS
We will allow adults to learn the sport in a controlled environment and play with people of a comparable skill level and at contact levels everyone is comfortable with. We will also have competitive adult pick-up and league play for those with past lacrosse backgrounds or good athletes willing to learn. And don’t worry about equipment. We have used equipment for rent or purchase, in addition to new gear. FAMILY
Just because you don’t want to strap on a helmet doesn’t mean you can’t learn enough to help your kids improve in the sport. In Family Coaching Sessions, we will create a series of drills based on the specific capabilities of each team member. Maybe we’ll even let Dad use a baseball glove if he’s really hopeless. Being there to toss while coaching is what is important. GEAR:
There is nothing else in sports like stringing and maintaining a men’s lacrosse pocket. Traditional or mesh? High, mid, or low pocket? Shooting string configuration? Drip or no drip? Even when you get it right, that’s just fading moment without constant attention and a backup plan. It starts with our world-class instructors, who will not just help you on the field but also off the field, in our store- offering tune-ups, restringing, etc. Used and rental gear will also be available, for those not ready to commit to what is generally thought to be an expensive sport.
