Harvest Fest (FREE!) is 𝗧𝗢𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗥𝗢𝗪 — 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟭𝟮–𝟲 𝗣𝗠 𝗮𝘁 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸! We want to provide an important update regarding parking and shuttle accessibility so you can plan ahead and know what to expect.

🚌 𝗦𝗵𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲:
We originally thought that one of our two event shuttles was ADA accessible. We have since confirmed that 𝗻𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗵𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗔𝗗𝗔 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲. However, both are 14-passenger, 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘆-𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘄-𝗳𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 making them easier to board than a standard vehicle, but they are not wheelchair accessible.

𝗔 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗵𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿, Warren Township Center, for providing the shuttles to help transport attendees from our off-site parking locations to Rule Park throughout the event!

♿ 𝗔𝗗𝗔 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸:
We will have 𝟭𝟬 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘀𝘆 𝗔𝗗𝗔 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲. The Rule Park entrance will also serve as an 𝗔𝗗𝗔 𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽-𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗸-𝘂𝗽 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

♿ 𝗔𝗗𝗔 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝗢𝗳𝗳-𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝘁𝘀:
There will also be 𝗽𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗗𝗔 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝗳𝗳-𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. If you are using an off-site lot and require ADA parking, please look for the designated ADA spaces.

We encourage everyone to 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗽 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄 so you can choose the parking option that works best for you and your group.

👣 Walking and biking is highly encouraged for Wildwood residents
🚕 Using a ride share service like Uber or Lyft will take the hassle out of parking and can get you home safely and responsibly
⚠️ Use extreme caution whether you drive or walk. Wildwood is an unincorporated community and does not have sidewalks. We are expecting a significant amount of foot and vehicle traffic, especially on Sears Blvd. Please abide by posted speed limits and stop signs, and be aware of your surroundings
❌ When utilizing street parking, do not block fire hydrants, driveways, or mail boxes. Vehicles in violation are subject to tow

We’re officially in the final stretch leading up to Harvest Fest (FREE!), and we could use a little help from our amazing community! ❤️

And the best part? 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲!

There are all kinds of ways to get involved, including:

One of the things our residents and Harvest Fest attendees have come to LOVE is having their photos taken down by the 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗳𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 overlooking the lake. Unfortunately, the photographer who has generously provided this service for us in the past is no longer able to make it to this year’s event.

So…we’re looking for a 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿! 📷🍂

We’re seeking a photographer who would be willing to 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 during Harvest Fest, capture photos of attendees at the decorated pavilion, and provide an 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘀.

We’re proud to help promote an upcoming fundraiser for Scouts BSA Troop 671 — a troop that has been an important part of our community for generations. 💙💛

𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗽 𝟲𝟳𝟭 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗱𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝟭𝟵𝟱𝟱, and the Wildwood Park District is proud to serve as the troop’s 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Over the years, these Scouts and their families have given countless hours back to our community through service projects and volunteer efforts.

Just a few of the projects Troop 671 has helped with around Wildwood include:

They've also been there to volunteer at countless Wildwood Park District events over the years, including 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆, 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗴𝗴 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝘁, and many others. 🙌

Scouting America’s goal is to train youth in responsible citizenship, character development, and self-reliance through participation in a wide range of outdoor activities, educational programs, and, at older age levels, career-oriented programs in partnership with community organizations. For younger members, the Scout method is part of the program to instill typical Scouting values such as trustworthiness, good citizenship, and outdoors skills, through a variety of activities such as camping, aquatics, and hiking.

Join the Troop for a 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 on 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟱–𝟴 𝗣𝗠 𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗸𝗲. Members of Sea Base Crew 671 will act as servers for guests throughout the evening, and 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝘄’𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳.

So grab a ButterBurger, some cheese curds and a Concrete Mixer (because supporting local Scouts is even better with dessert 😉) and 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗽 𝟲𝟳𝟭 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻!

Per this morning's water sample testing conducted by the Lake County Health Department, 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗿𝗲-𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘄𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴.

All beach activities, including swimming, may now resume as normal.

As we head into Labor Day weekend, we have a few important reminders for our Wildwood residents and visitors:

The Wildwood Park District office will be 𝗖𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗘𝗗 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟳, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 for Labor Day.

If you’re planning to go boating on Gages Lake and need a 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗽 𝗸𝗲𝘆 (𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆), or if you plan to utilize our parks and need a 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗿, please stop by the office 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱 to take care of these needs.

The Gagewood Lions Club was chartered in 𝟭𝟵𝟱𝟵, and for more than six decades, they have been serving the Wildwood/Gages Lake community through countless projects and generous contributions.

If you look around Wildwood, you'll see the 𝗟𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗼 on so many things that make our parks and community better:

The Lions Club's main focus is supporting 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗱, 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗲𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, and other important community needs. ❤️

Events like the Pig Roast help make it possible for the Gagewood Lions Club to continue giving back so generously to Wildwood and our surrounding community.
