Pickleball clubs usually sell memberships for their guests. At Always & Furever's Pickle 4 Paws space, we're doing something a little more special. They're called Joy Drops.

For $20, you sponsor a 20-minute play session for a rescue dog or cat. We release 200 pickleballs on the court just for them.

It's joy, enrichment, and one-on-one attention that shows off their personality and boosts their shot at getting adopted. Plus, your $20 helps fund daily care for our our rescue friends.

It's been awhile since we shared one of our coworkers of the day. And this week we had a very special guy at the office.

💚 MEET MARVIN 💚
📍Little Wichita Barn

Marvin is a healthy, energetic boy who would love someone to watch cartoons with. This week it was Aspin, Little Wichita Barn Manager, who Marvin decided was the perfect couch buddy. No notes, 5 stars, would nap on again.

Marvin's previous family loved him deeply but due to unfortunate circumstances could no longer keep him. Our staff and volunteers adore him, but it's still obvious Marvin isn't meant for the shelter life.

The second Marvin spent a day out of a group shelter environment, he was calmer, cuddlier, and so at ease that he fell asleep right in Aspin's arms. His hound heart just wants a real home again.

Marvin's Resume:
• Black and Tan Coonhound Mix
• 56 lbs
• 5 years young
• Neutered
• Fully potty trained
• Loves: daily walks, investigating the world nose-first, and squeaky toys
• The best of both worlds: would be great for an active family, but is also a major cuddler once playtime winds down. He'll lean right in for all the affection.

Today's coworker ordered Door Dash from next door (Thanks Mya!). He's also a seasoned couch potato and the only guy I know that makes snoring look cute: Meet Dr. Suess.

Dr. Suess is at Always & Furever Midwest Animal Sanctuary's Wichita location, looking for his second chance at furever love. And man, does this guy deserve it.

He’s one of the longest shelter residents, and you can tell not thriving in a home is wearing on him.

Dr. Suess is not meant to be a shelter dog.
He’s meant to be the center-of-a-family kind of dog.

This fella had to say goodbye to his human through no fault of his own. For six years of his life, this handsome guy had a home, a couch, a comfy bed, and most importantly, a person who loved him dearly. Sadly, his dad had to move into assisted living and wasn't allowed to bring Dr. Suess along.

Dr. Suess' Resume:
✅ 12 years young, around 70ish lbs
✅ Really loves one-on-one quality time with people, he would thrive as an only pet, but is friendly with everyone.

🧠 Incredibly smart

He also loves sunbathing, being read to, and having his beefy head held up by his human.

Happy Wednesday! Our Coworker of the Day: Stone

Stone is the ultimate good boy, waiting on his forever home at Always & Furever's Little Wichita Barn. This brindled gentleman greets everyone with big, kind eyes, a goofy smile, and the sweetest demeanor.

He is excellent at building team morale and taking breaks on time. However, we handed off some documents for him to review and he said he'd "circle back" with his notes. He did not circle back. He is asleep.

Boxer mix, 68 lbs, 11 years young
Dog, cat, and kid friendly
Loves to lean on, cuddle, or hold paws with his person
Enjoys walks with his shelter roommates and is excellent on a leash
Handles baths and car rides like a pro
Big fan of snacks: veggie Kongs and puzzle toys are a couple of favorites
During thunderstorms, Stone is most comfortable with reassurance from his person to remind him he's safe

With 11 years of experience under his belt, Stone's basically senior staff. He's seen it all, he's unbothered, and knows exactly what he wants out of life: walks with friends, naps, snacks, and a person to call his own.

Help us find Stone a home where he can finally clock out and relax, because he is the kind of family dog people dream about.
